2006 C230 Sport Door Mirror Replacement
Sorry if this is redundant, but my whole passenger door mirror broke off in an accident and I was wondering if I can replace it with a 2005 model?
The broken one was w/o memory and w/o parking assist.
I know they changed the LEDs in 2005 but I was wondering if I have to watch out for a particular trim so that I don't have any wiring issues.
Any answers would be helpful because a salvage yard is holding a 2005 for me and I can't find any 2006's.
Thanks!

ok so the whole mirror needs replacing? also what options does your 06 have? the led's don't matter that is a separate piece that btw has the same connector for both styles. usually we don't like to help newbies who's first post is self serving but i am in a good mood so don't make me regret helping you.

Sorry for the first post/newbie mishap. I'll definitely contribute more in the future..
As for replacing the whole mirror, what's definitely needs replacement is the mirror (shattered), painted casing (cracked through and severely scratched/damaged), and the LED blinker (cracked lens and housing). What's attached to the car seems to still be intact. Instead of replacing with an aftermarket part that I will have to get painted, I finding it would be cheaper to buy a salvage part.
Options - I think the only options I have are heated seats and moonroof. I am not sure if it's part of a package, but I bought this used so I'm not completely sure. I definitely do not have parking assist or memory mirrors.
Thanks for your response. Please let me know if anyone needs more info that would help out.

Ok this is easy the painted housing as far as i know never changed hopefully someone else could verify that for me. the led part is the same for all w203 just the 01-04 had ugly ones and the 05-07 had clear ones. they use the same connectors sounds like you have the clear ones and would just need one. the glass is the only thing i am not sure on they are different types of them i know that but don't really know any more i do know that a lot of people like the convex ones better hopefully someone will explain that for you.
http://www.rmeuropean.com/ has a lot of parts they have the mirror light cheap i got mine from here. http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/ this is a very good website for parts information.

I'm not sure that the parking assist feature or memory feature matters at all. I think that's a computer thing that just directs the mirror motor, which would be universal in all of the cars since they all had power mirrors. The 2005 and 2006 mirrors should be identical.

All W203 mirrors are interchangeable. When it come to glass this varies by market. Mine - as an example, are flat with a convex outer edge.

Thanks for the info, I think I'll be ordering the used 2005 part and hopefully it'll work out. After doing some more research, it looks like they introduced the LEDs in 2005 so it should match.
Now just have to figure out how to get it on since I'll have to take off the door panel.
Thanks again to everyone

You do not have to replace the entire assembly - sounds like just glass, cover & blinker repeater. The blinker repeater is screwed to the cover. Once the cover is off you just unscrew the blinker from the cover. 2 screws.
Bend mirror back against it's spring & insert a 2 inch wooden spacer to hold it back. unclip the mirror cover - slide it off & you are in.
