HELP:No sound from radio
ok, wtf???? i disconnected the cd changer from the glove box and removed it from my car, and no , audio is dead. i mean radio is working, cd is playing, but theres no sound coming from the speakers. does the fiber optics has anything to do with it??? do i need to put that plug somewhere else to create a loop of some sort?

This depends on what other equipment you have connected on the MOST ring. Do you have premium audio (with a subwoofer under the package tray), a telephone, a Sirius receiver, or tele-Aid?
The audio system waits for all the "players" to chime in when started. Version coding is needed for some. If you have premium audio, removing the changer has left the amplifier on the rear wheel well arch disconnected. You need to reconnect the MOST ring. It can be done by using some splice connections under the carpet on the right side of the transmission tunnel. You need to reconnect the fiber optic cables to exclude the glovebox changer from the loop.

Take a close look at these instructions for installing a telephone in your car. It has an explaination of how to configure the MOST ring to get the amp (called SOUND by Mbz) reconnected. They also show how the cables are labeled, and the change area under the carpet. There is enough information here to figure this out. Good luck.

If you have the Harman/Kardon Logic7 system, you could have suffered coincidental amp failure. That has been unfortunately common on the cars with the premium system. The amp will run you about $1,000 (ridiculous, IMO) I'll see if I can find the thread about this and post it here.
IMO, Mercedes should have stuck with Bose instead of changing to HK. The W203 until facelift had Bose and amp failures on those are unheard of.

ok guys , i got it fixed. basically the entire car is pre-wired with fiber optics for tel., satellite radio, sound, etc. when you add any features you have to re route fiber optics to conitnue having that loop of sound closed. Great help Moviela!!! As far as the amp in the trunk, i would question its placement , NOT the amp itself. I noticed that whenever i washed my car thoroughly , right after wards my sound system was flickering or pitching really high squeeky sound once every minute or so, regardless of the volume setting. And eventually it would go away within few hours or so. One day i innocently was doing something in the trunk area and i noticed that the bottom of the carpet ( that cave thats located on both side of the car , right underneath the tail lamps ) is wet or damp. And i believe that water is the culprit in the failing amp. Also, i dont think techs at MB did much thinking about placing it properly to help with weight distribution either ( heavy amp on right side and heavy power block on left side) lol...anyway ...all is fixed...and improved

the sound in my car just disappeared today too, i have the non nav HK system, all displays and cd. cdc, ipod work except there is no sound either. could this be amp failure as above
and if i still have original extended warrenty, it should be covered right?

My stereo sound died again today too
I spent a good hour googling this, and still didn't come up with the info in this thread. This is about the 5th time the sound has died for me, and it always comes back after the car has been off for awhile. We had heavy rain here today so maybe I have a leak in my trunk.
No warranty for me, and I don't know what I'd do about a bad amp. They can be repaired for about $300 or so, but I hate the idea of putting money into a such a poor sounding unreliable system. I have the non command HK system with all the components.

Search for another similar thread here. Every so often, my sound goes out completely, though the stereo works fine otherwise. What I do is remove the fuse in the panel to the left of the the steering wheel that is in the middle of the panel, then put it back in, and everything then works again for at least the next month or two. Others have had this work as well. Not saying that's what you've got, but it couldn't hurt to try. And while you're there, wouldn't hurt to look at all of your fuses.

This is exactly what I had to do in order to get the sound working again. I have a 2005 C230, sound was working when I parked my car then 2 hours later nothing! The radio turned on and worked fine just no audio coming out of any of the speakers. I pulled the 25amp fuse #26 which is the 6th slot down on the left side of the fuse panel to the left of the steering wheel which is labeled in the manual for "Sound system (SE)", fuse looked good so put it back in and voilà! Sound is back working.
