Harness for aftermarkey head unit?
I'm looking to replace the stock head unit with an aftermarket one. I was told I need a mercedes harness to make the aftermarket head unit to work. I don't know which harness I need or where to even get it. Does anybody know where to get the harness? I have an 02 c230 coupe

Yea i went to one of the guys and he said that mercedes didnt make a harness for any c class models 02 and down. Which i think is probably not true or he might have been referring to a whole ipod integration kit
In any case what would i tell the best buy people? Like any specific name for the harness? or would i just say i need a harness that connects into an aftermarket hu

Mercedes doesn't make the wiring harness.
Just go tell them you are going to put an aftermarket stereo and you need a harness for a 2002 C230 Coupe.
It will look something like this.

I went to college with "Mr. Crutchfield's" daughter. Awesome guy, and their customer service is outstanding. Please buy from them if you are satisfied with the customer service. Tons of people will use their advice, then go buy somewhere else to save a buck or two.

yes the metra 70-9401 for VW will work for our cars, I have the same one and am using it for my after market double din nav unit.....my lazy *** still has to get around installing it........

I got my car back from the Dealership Saturday, and ever since then I was trying to install an aftermarket indash. Finally got it today! (4 days later....)
How could you wait so long?!

tell me about it man I feel like hitting myself...I promise you I will do it this weekend andpost some pics.......I have had the nav unit for over a year now originally planned for my 2008 civic unitll I sold it and got this C280...love it.....heheheh......the only thing I am dreading is running the cable for the back up camera under the carpet.......all the way up to the rear lincese plates.......but will take a jab at it this week end atleast I will get the headunit installed and then will do the camera later on.........juts want to find the best and easiest way to ruote the cable.......anyone????

well it is not the camera, it is the cable that I need to run from the license plates to the headunit for the signals to be trasmitted to the nav screen. Laying this cable would be a real PITA....... so I was asking folks up here is there a specific route that I need to lay it so it would be relatively easier.........power for the camera, I will be drawing it from the reverse lights so it kicks in when I am reversing the car.........will see what happens....will definately have to take the rear seats out; I don't see how I can get around it to get into the trunk........I can fish it too but what route I need to take to be able to fish it so it is easier.........
