Armored Truck vs. Mercedes = FAIL

I am still too upset to discuss it yet, but here are the pics of what an armored truck did to my car:

My friend Johnnie Walker is helping me through it at the moment. Details and better pics to follow.

Wow this is going to be a good story i hope I would usually want to kill whoever did that to my car but i know he had a gun so i guess i would refrain.
Make me sad to see a w203 wrecked good luck getting it fixed.

Damn!! I'm very sorry to see that.

As my mother would say after my shunts, "at least you're okay." :bs:

The armored truck had heard that Mercedes cars were built like tanks so it decided to test that?

It'd take one hell of a blow from a shopping cart to leave a mark like that on a 203! These cars have some pretty thick sheet metal in comparison to a Honda, for example.

I know it's a hassle to get body work done but in the end it will look just like new.

that sucks but, consider yourself very lucky. I saw an accident between an equinox and an armored truck once. The armored truck had a TINY bend in it's front bumper, otherwise, it looked like it was completely undamaged. The Equinox completely lost it's front driver's side suspension, and was almost ripped completely in 2 pieces.

Oh! ****!!!! That is terrible. If I had a sawn off shotgun handy someone would be dead as a Monty Python parrot. Deceased!!! - And you look after your car so well.

Trust you are OK. Only bright side is that it looks to be a bolt off, bolt on repair & she should be good as new. Have the nose chips done at the same time.

And it's bloody Christmas! I have unprintable language for such truck drivers. I would be banned from the forum for life.

Thanks for all the thoughtful replies guys, I appreciate it.

So, here is the promised story. My wife and I were heading into a strip mall parking lot in 'the couve'. The parking lot was packed and there was a line of cars waiting to get parking spots. I pulled forward to the end of the line, and saw in my driver's side mirror, an armored truck pulling up alongside me very slowly, but then they turned toward the car, and tagged the side of my car. The part of the truck that hit me was the huge cow pusher bumper that sticks out almost a 1ft from the rest of the truck. As they were coming to a stop, the right front fender of the truck tagged my mirror and folded it almost completely forward. As we were getting hit, we could feel our car skidding to the right. That damn thing actually pushed the car several inches to the right.

Then, after they realized they hit me, they backed away, and the mirror sprung back into position. It appears, undamaged. I am going to clean the car up and take another look. The damage to the armored truck?!?! Not even a scratch on the bumper

When it happened I COMPLETELY lost it and was yelling and screaming profanity like a drunken sailor. I got out of the car and was ready to pull the driver out and kick some ***. Then the passenger guard got out of the truck and had his hand just above his gun, and at that moment I realized I needed to calm down before I widowed my wife. Then he handed me all the pieces of my car that were laying in the parking lot.

The side airbag didn't deploy, and all the electronics work on the driver's side door. The window only goes down about 2 inches of course, but I'll be damned the door closes perfectly, and is completely lines up on top.

For your amusement here is the driver:

Wow that sucks. I doubt I would have stopped yelling when I saw his hand on the firearm - instead I'd have asked my wife to call a cop friend between rants. If they drew, there'd be some serious explaining to do, especially since they were the reason for the whole ordeal (you bash my car then draw on me???). Does it still drive straight? I'd be wondering about other bent stuff if they pushed you several inches. I trust the guard company will be taking care of everything for you? I would insist on a complete re-spray based on how well your car is maintaned. It'll never match perfect if they just spray a few panels, especially after some time. I would also insist that the work be done thru your MB dealer and taht you get a MB loaner while it's being taken care of. Man, that's just seriously messed up!! Glad to know you and your wife are OK.

if it's a standard armored truck that transports money from banks etc etc aka "Brinks" they weight in 60,000 pds lol. Keep in mind a garbage truck weighs only 36000pds

Let me reiterate, his hand never touched his firearm, but you could tell the guy was nervous as I was a COMPLETE and TOTAL raging lunatic. I could barely hold back my anger. It was ugly, I had tons of people staring at me, wondering what I was going to do. I had no anger towards the passenger guard, but I could tell he wasn't sure if I was going to go off on him.

Car drives straight, steering wheel straight, no weird noises, even with all the bent metal at highway speeds. Like I said, both doors line up perfectly on top, and close and seal perfectly.

That is why we love Mercedes, they make a quality auto! BTW, I would have had my hand close to my firearm as well, the guy was just being cautious. Looks like it had the right affect, you regained your composure, and the situation didn't escalate into anything awful. We tend to forget that these are inanimate objects that feel nothing toward us. People are more important.

BTW, I freaking LOVE your wheels, but can't find them anywhere. Did you get them stock, or if aftermarket, where did you find them?
