As far as the tires go, I'm actually pretty impressed with the Pirellis that came on my C63 wheels (meaning they come stock on the C63). Also happens to be the same tire the new Camaro comes stock with. Hopefully they won't go to crap once they get some miles on them, I haven't been impressed with Pirellis in the past. I will be replacing them with the S.Drive. I've become a big fan of the Yokohama brand, I love the Parada Spec-X I have on my Trailblazer.

HERE ARE MY QUESIONS!!! PLS HELP!
***IF YOU HAVE 18s RIM AND TIRES ON YOUR C230, I NEED TO KNOW THE RIM SIZE, OFFSET, AND EXACT TIRE SIZE, ALSO DO THEY CAUSE RUB OR ANY OTHER PROBLEM. I AM GOING NUTS B/C I CAN'T GET AN ANSWER****
I have a 2007 C230 Sport and I've decided on a set of AMG replicas that are 18x8.5 front with 35MM offset, and 18x9.5 rear with 38MM offset.
The tires recommended to me was this:
1) 225 - 40 - 18 front
2) 255 - 35 - 18 rear
Here's my question, one guy from a tire store told me the rear rim with 38MM offset will not be a good look, another guy told me 255 - 35 -18 may be a tight fit and cause "rubbing".
Can someone tell if these tires will fit and look right? Obviously I don't want the tires to look pushed beyond the fender or inward..
HELP!!

I have the exact same size rims and tires, and offsets as you are looking at on my 2005 230SS and they fit great, with no rubbing fenderwells or hitting shock towers, and clears the big brakes in front.
They work just fine and upgrading the the 18's upgraded my handilng and ride IMO. The 38ET in the rear fit perfectly and my rears have a 2.5 inch lip that looks great as well.

There are plenty of reasons.
I'll try to list them in terms of easiest to more annoying ways of finding out:
Are you inflated properly?
32 fronts - 34 rears was what I was recommended as the General PSI for treadwear.
Rubbing?
Drive around. Go on some bumpy roads; carefully, and music off.
Alignment?
Find a flat parking lot, set the steering wheel straight, gas.
Are you going off to a side?
35$ at most shops to do a check.
Camber wear?
I'm not quite sure what this is, but from what I've read:
Does this have to do with taking off your entire wheel and checking for 'play'
Faulty Tire?
Contact manufacturer (annoying)
This has what I've done research into when my tire had irregular tread wear.

thanks for the info...ya i know my alignments been off for a few months now...just havent had time to get it fixed and never thought it was terribly a big deal...maybe i was wrong but im taking into a shop tomorrow to get at least the alignment done and maybe the bushings looked at (as was recommended by a MB mechanic bud of my bro's)...thanks for the info and ya my tires are inflate and they dont rub (interestingly enough cuz i thought i would at some point but i never do, go MB shocks!!!)

Incorrect toe will eat your tires WAYY faster than incorrect camber. I bet your toe is super goofy on the wheel that is eating up your tire.
Good luck. When considering alignment jobs, consider the 140 dollar lifetime alignment offered by firestone. 140 dollars up front and you can take it back as much as you want.

ONly my right rear rubs on hard dips. Who ever I spoke to that have 19" they had the same issue.
Benz, BMW
Will this have to do with the gas tank as well? It makes the right rear sit more?
Thanks

if you look closely some W203's entire chassi is offset to either the right or left for some bogus reason. mine is offset to the driverside and I always have more rubbing issue on the right. mig888's car on the other hand is complete opposite.
it's just how they are. what you can do is trim the inside of the bumper/impact strip tabs.

Hey guys, my tires are pretty much done and i need a new set. I've got 30,000 miles on them. The tires that im looking at are the "Michelin Pilot A/S Plus" and they would cost around $600 but i was thinking instead of buying new set of tires for that kind of money, maybe buying a pair of rims&tires with the same WIDTH front&back so that way i would be able to rotate my tires and, save money in the long run and tires would last a lot longer. I just want to get everyones opinion on this see what you think i should do??? Thank you.

i have 07 sport wheels and am not happy that i can't rotate. i would go with wheels/tires with the same width so you can rotate. its a big pain in the rear having to change tires so often. it looks good and all to have larger tires in the back, but the impracticality outweighs the look in my opinion

Do the math first and see how long it will take you to break even when buying new wheels (same size all around) vs. keeping your current setup and just replacing your rears.
Not doing the math - I would not be surprised if it would take you 4 years to break even and by then you might already have a different car.
For rears I would go with General Exclaim UHP (245/40/17): $105 at tirerack.
I have them on right now and am more than happy with them.
For comparison: I had Good Year Eagle F1's DS something, Michelins and Contis 3 before.
