Wow...that can't be good for the tire or fender lining.

thing is .. that happens with every 05+ owner and this setup. i did now several u turns with a decent speed and check the plastic cover and tire every 3 weeks and it doesnt do any damage. it just barely touches it. i just wanted to point out to him with a picture, that there is NO room for games when it is more than 35 in front - 30 in the rear.

255 - you can have 3 people in the back + weight of another person in trunk without any rubbing.

265 - you can have 2 people in the back with no rubbing (from what i know)

270 - dont think anyone who has that. i believe 275 would be next one after 265.

you could do fender rolling which gives you more room to play with, but can damage your paintjob seriously, when not done right.

also the tire brand plays a role. kumhos i believe have a slightly angled side wall.

i personally would try to get 8.5 all around. with that a 255 tire isnt stretched and gives the same affect than a 265 or even maybe more because it isnt stretched on the wheel.

I'm running 235/35/19

mine are:

F 8.5 = 235/35/19

R 9.5 = 265/30/19

Comments: very good, quiet tire. Much quieter than the Pilot Sport that came on some cars. However, wet weather traction is not particularly worth applauding.
Would Buy Again?: Probably going to change for the BF Goodrich g-Force Sport.

Buy again?: Probably not, the rear was worn out and replaced at 30,000 miles (It was like slicks!!, no tread left at ALL!), the front at the time still have about 50% left. Now at 42,000 miles the front has about 20% left and about 50% left in the rear. It wears out way too fast for me, and they are too expansive.

I would probably go with P-Zero or Eagle F-1, something in the same performance category but cheaper.

for my Toyo T1R's. I've gotten approx. 5k miles on the rears, I'm on my 3rd pair for the rears while on my 1st on my fronts. Normal driving, no drifting or burnouts. Don't take rear seating passengers that often.

running on 19 HRE's.

Put 63K miles on original Conti's and replaced them with same. New Contis have 40K miles and are not wearing as well. Original camber was adjusted at about 12K miles and solved drifting problem but now outside edge of wheel wears quicker than rest of tire. Contis are quiet and I don't push the car in corners hard so the grip is sufficient. Thinking about cross rotating the next set but have heard it's not advisable....any comments? Also read where one person switched tires (not rims) on front wheels to even out the wear.

what are the differences between the pilot sport and ps2? do the ps2's have better dry traction ? Not too happy with my pilot primacy right now, it's very comfy but need something with better dry grip for hard turns.

cross rotating as in FL > RR and FR > RL? check your tires, they should most likely be staggered so you might not want to do that. but if you want to rotate left > right, right > left. it might not make much of a difference.

Comments: Great performance on dry, and remarkable wet performance. Terrible grip on light snow . Very quiet tire. No squeal when losing traction at the limit, which is disconcerting at first.
Would Buy Again?: Probably. The confident performance has been worth the cost so far.

why arent your tires staggered?? is it for the purpose of rotating and getting more miles out of your tires?

My year/model did not come with staggered and I wouldn't want them anyway because of the wear factor. I don't think the 'look' is all that good either to trade for the inability to rotate them.

i drive a 2005 c230k and running on some mich ps2's right now on the stock 17's. Tires are great, but the tread sure runs down dang quick and the tires are so expensive.

Just wondering. anyone have any suggestions for any cheaper tire replacements that are long lasting? i dont drive spirted or anything. i have to commute 84 miles on the highway everyday to work so i want to get the most milage out of them..


any ideas on a durable tire thats fairly priced (not as much as the ps2's) that'll last long?

Alot of us are running the Toyo TR-1. Yes, its a little pricey. Not as bad as the Michelin, but you can get some good mileage out of them. Plus they have a great sweet spot for wearing in well.
