I think I will just make that for fun...no way I can produce them. Maybe I can check with a buddy of mine, he has a machine shop. I will keep you guys posted...maybe not as customized as putting your names on it. Could be just a simple bigger ring so it stands out more??

I know that this thread is ancient, but I'm just STFF. I got my door pins and surrounds today, and it seems as my rear passenger door wont accept the new pin. The new pin is fine because it screwed onto the others, so I'm thinking there is something wrong with the pin in the door. Possibly stripped or something? The stock pin screws on fine, so for the moment, I have the stupid golf tee on that door only. Whats my next step to solving this?

hmm...the rear surrounds were more difficult than the front surrounds but all my pins came off easy...i know theres nothing wrong with the new pin because i screwed on one of the others to make sure it was fine...I'm gonna have to go out and look at it more closely...I'm gonna try and get it on there sumhow...the other three look sweet
its just that last one ![action](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/action1.gif)
If it won't screw on, what if I used some sort of putty or something..

Nah. Don't pm me. I'll answer here.
My surrounds are different than the formymercedes surrounds, but you seem to be having a problem with the door pin itself, right?
Did you look into the pin to see if the threading for the door pin is bad? That sounds like the case because if you can screw in the golf tee door pin, you should be able to screw in the aluminum door pins.
Check that and get back to us.

Yeah...I'm going to have to look closer tomorrow, I did these when I was between classes this afternoon...I was also being careful not to have the doors in the locked position without a pin on it so it would always come to the hole...I'm going to take the new surround off and see if I can get a good look at the actual pin inside the door to see if it is stripped...it is also difficult to see the thread inside the new pin because it is deep....the pin I was trying to get on that door screwed onto the other door fine so...I'll take a close look tomorrow and see if I can figure it out...thanks..

ok, so I had some time between my classes this afternoon again and was able to find my problem with that last door pin...I took off the new surround (because i think in this thread it says to put the surround on first, which I had done yesterday) anyways, now with the surround off, I was able to get more leverage, I guess, in twisting it on. I also guess it would be fair to say that I was being too careful, so now they're all in and they make the interior look nicer....so yesterday with this potential problem and also my thinkin that my stupid rear fog was out
.....today is great

Just so you don't feel alone, I've done stuff like that SO many times in the last 3 years adding on new mods...LOL. At least you didn't break the shifter lighting when replacing your shifter, like I did!...hahahaha. Luckily, since it was an OEM shifter (but didn't come standard on the car), the dealership let it slide and fixed it under warranty.

bought mine on ebay, totally worth it. Use a pair of needle nose pliers to carefully grab the edge of the black factory one and pull up. the chrome ones pop in in a second. looks a 1000 times better if you have the aluminum interior

Remove OEM Door Pin Surrounds ?
I bought some aluminum door pin surrounds, and door pins. The OEM door pins screw off easy enough with some pliers, but then the OEM door pin surround is very hard to get off ....... the new surrounds are threaded on the outside so it seems like they screw into the door ...... do the OEM door pin surrounds screw out, or to they pull out ?
Also for people who have installed aluminum door pins .... did you screw them down finger tight ... or did you use pliers and a cloth or something to stop scratching, to screw them down until they are flush with the door when locked?
Thanks for any help

I just installed my aluminum set, yeah they seem a little difficult but they're really not...just give it some force. A couple of them I was able to just use my fingers to get 'em out. They are pull out not screw. They are rubbery so they have a little flex. You have to get one side out a lil' bit and then pull the other side up and they should come out. Use pliers and it might be easy..I was able to take them all out w/o any damage to any of them Its not as complicated as I made it sound but oh well, lol...small mod, you'll like the results

Also...yes you want to be careful not to scratch them, they scratch easy as I knicked one, it was a tiny scratch and you can't notice it unless your inspecting it...I screwed mine as far as they go..basically you want them to be flat and level with the surround when the doors are locked. The new surrounds are also push in...just try to push them down as far as possible with a soft surface to not scratch them..Check out the aluminum surrounds thread, it was last posted on 3/21 when I was installing them...

Thanks for the help LuxuryC240 , I used some force and it was all easy as. Only problem now is that to screw the pins down to the correct level, it made marks in the pin..... I tried using lots of cloth between the pliers and the pin ... it still made lots of marks but
