Tore the air intake tube

In the process of changing the idler pulley and replacing the thermostat, I tore the intake tube that runs from the left intake to the airbox on the right side (from the front of the car). Seeing it come apart, it looks like it's meant to come apart in a spiral pattern.

Should I be worried about this? Should I repair it with duct tape or replace it entirely? I put it back in the way it came out, and unless you were to take it out again, it's not clear that the tube has come apart. Car seems to run fine this way so far.

Duct tape is a no no. It will not withstand the temps needed. Unless you mean the foil duct tape. That would work but would look god awful

if you are talking about that cloth like tube that runs from above the rad to the air box. Tape it up with black friction tape, i.e. hockey stick tape. Mine fell apart (started to unravel I taped it back together with hockey tape and 3 years later it is still intact and the repair blends in with the colour and texture of the tube

The tube is not much of a heat issue.

I tore mine a few years back as well.

The replacement is not too expensive from an online wholesale dealer.

And it looks better than a duct tape repair

Buy a Replacement oem part. They are not that expensive, Or go to EBay there is a ram air intake for sale that replaces that failure prone hose with a setup that looks like the factory did it.

I busted mine too a month or two ago while replacing my coolant themostat. $5 worth of Krazy Glue (get the Gel type) and it's been holding. Everything just tucks back together if you're careful, because of the "spiral spring" reinforcement. If you do it carefully and pop everything back into the correct position, you won't even be able to tell from a cosmetic perspective.

The piece is not structural at all. All it does is provide a channel of air from outside the engine. Because of the way it's constructed and supported under the hood, you probably won't need to glue it if you are so inclined. The spring will hold everything together. But this is not recommended as it will now also allow hot air from the engine inside, reducing engine performance.

RMEuropean sells it for $50 if you're really ****. Cheapest I could find so far.

Bought new ones how to install?

My air tubes needed to be replaced cuz they were torn at plastic piece above radiator it’s all connected so the new ones just don’t slide in place of the others cuz the front part is part of the plastic that holds to radiator
any Help here would be appreciated
