Late models w203. Still suffers from earlier model reliability issues?
Hi there. I'm just wondering if the w203 runout year models, 2006, are a good buy quality wise. There's a c200k with AMG options for a good price at a local dealer. No Merc warranty though. I tried the w204 but for my budget, I really didn't like the classic model at all interior wise and my budget won't stretch to an elegance or aventgard w204.

Late 2002 onward were fine. My 2003 has had 2 X castor bushes under warranty (known problem), one 5 cent tranny plug crush washer to stop a very slight fluid weep & one RHS stop lamp globe. Otherwise servicing to the book, brake pads & tyres.
In fairness the C240 power train was proven in previous models.

Trini and Boom Vang are talking about two separate issues.
Trini is referring to the timing over retarded problem in the M272 cars cause by camshaft position sensors.
Boom vang is referring to the leaking cam magnets on the front of the M271 engine.

Since he was mentioning the 200K I wanted to clarify that he was looking at the correct part. Unfortunately someone started calling the solenoids as cam sensors and this can be a bit confusing to those not in the know

As I stated my valid issue, I brought that problem into the light as I was reffering to the late model W203's on U.S. shores, I went after the problem that most of us with the M272 suffered from.
