C230K Transmission(s) 722.6... questions
As we know it's the 5-speed auto.
The car currently has 82,xxx miles on it. I'm assuming this fluid has never been fully flushed.
Before I go spending the big bucks on fluids, could you guys please guide me in the right direction.
What is the correct fluid, and what quantity will I really need to do a FULL FLUSH on this car?
I've come across this website, but I'm confused as to which "spec" fluid is correct for this transmission. I plan to keep the car for a LONG time, so I want to do this right.
http://catalog.importrp.com/ShopByVe...id=ATF&mode=PA
Would someone please describe what all the numbers mean? www.importrp.com has plenty of OE parts & fluids, but there appears to be about 3-5 different variations.
Also, which is the correct filter & gasket set (as there's several options there as well).
Thank you in advance, I DID try to search this topic... I just really want to do this right, and I'd appreciate all the help I can get.
Thanks.

Change fluid & filter every 39,000 miles in future.

What's the difference in the Fuch's and the Febi?
I'm just getting familiarized with these lines of chemicals...
I've been used to Redline / Royal Purple / Mobil 1, etc.
Thanks for all the info.
Also, what gear oil (for the rear diff) would you recommend?

Runs about $72 for a case of 12 bottles (I guess that's not too bad?
)Good to know I don't have to pay $23 a bottle at the dealership for the exact same stuff.
Apparently the Fuchs Titan fluid is the exact same as the Mobil 134 ATF. (Just different bottles).
I've found the Shell fluid in the US, but not the Mobil.
Is there a location for the mobil fluid, or do you guys find these to be equal?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Who do you work for, you *really* know your stuff in this area...
I know you mentioned you travel a lot for your job, are you ever in the states?
It'd be great to get you out here for SEMA in Las Vegas, Nevada sometime.

Disregard the site’s misleading ‘Pennzoil’ description. Pennzoil and Quaker State products have been blended under the Shell corporate umbrella since ‘02.
It’s packaged and shipped in the container shown below:

This Shell find is good news. Proper pricing! Shell has access to certain base oils that others have to buy-in which probably explains the pricing. There is only one approved additive system for this product that all companies have to use. Shell is a highly reputable company & the product holds full approval.
Some of this price discrepancy is plain gouging.

Drop the pan, 4 quarts, leaves 5 quarts in the system, which is why
a flush is better. 14 quarts is what recommended for a complete flush.
12 at least before you'll see clean fluid.
