w204 c300 vs c320

just my quick impression of the c300

i have one right now as a loaner car...
not sure why but it feels so much lighter than my car....my car feels heavy and dreary

the c300 doesnt necessarily feel faster tho...actually i think its pick up is slower...odd because i guess it has more HP

curious of other impressions

C240
The steering was a lot lighter than my C240, and the ride was stiffer. The upgraded AMG 18's seemed to help with cornering, but both cornered well, the C240 because it was a small car, the C300 because it was newer and had sportier suspension.

I cant speak for the actual handling of the W204, but in terms of the look of the interior, I will take the W203 any way. Dont get me wrong, the 204 is sharp, but there is something about the dash/wheel/console on the 203 that has me wanting nothing else. I have the black leather interior with aluminum accents, I put that second to none.

Just my $.02

I need to agree with you in part on this one. I like the interior of the w203 better also, well the facelift anyways, than the w204. I test drove a w204 when I was car shopping and I liked the w203 inside better. I'm not a fan of the w204 radio dash and the streering wheel.

Saying this, w204 facelift interior does look superb from the photos I've seen.

The facelift W203 was better than pre-facelift, and the facelift W204 is better than pre-facelift.

I'll agree with the OP.. the W204s feel a lot less heavy in general (though they are not) than the W203s do.

Mercedes C320 Model 2002
Love this comparison thread. Got me a 2002 C320 a couple of weeks back and its put me back US$ 14 K after necessary repairs (arn't cheap here in Saudi Arabia).

Questions that come to mind:
1. Official (and authentic) 0 to 60 mph times of both cars ? ie. which ones really faster
2. A used 2008 C300 here is US$ 35 K here. Wonder if its worth every penny spent over the C320 cost....

Will think of more things to discuss; can't let this thread die too fast.....;-)

just drove a glk 350 as a loaner....still feels so slow and light compared tothe c320...i think it is because it has like 9 gears, everything changes gear too soon...even when i floored it, it was tame

took a e63 test drive after i picked up my car....nice....2010, nasty desert slver color, 8000 miles 90K $$

Checked out GLK 350's review after your post. Its a pretty fast for a jeep (even for many cars actually) with a 6.5 seconds 0 to 60 mph time...

Think why a slower car (my C320 in this case) would 'feel' faster than new C300 is because the W203 may have a harsher suspension, seats and more engine noise compared to the W204...

What else could it be.....

2002 Miata
It could feel slower because of the great traction and control of the vehicle
