Will these 285/35/18 wheels/tyres from SL from my c240?

Hi Gents,

Sorry for asking this type of question again, I have done at least an hour research on this forum, I got the following information for my w203 c240:

Front 16x7 ET32
Back 16x7 ET35

I not quite sure what the "7" means, 16 is the diameter, ET is the offset. I am looking to upgrade to some 18'' wheels, spot this one on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....:X:AAQ:AU:1123

Apparently the tyres are suuuuuuuuuuuper wide, don't know if it will fit my car. I understand some spacers will be required. Please advise me if these wheels/tyres will fit, and if not, why?

Thanks a lot from your help.

PS: I am from Sydney, Australia

7 is the width of the wheel. You might not need spacers. Fronts will be ok but id buy 5mm spacers for the rears just so it doesn't rub the inner wheel well. 285 will not fit or cars. Mac you can go is 235 in front and 265 in rear. The rears don't have much room to fit any wider tires unless you want pull and roll the fenders so it doesn't rub.

SL wheels cant be 5x110. believe i saw them at 5x112. no wheels are 5x110. center bore is 66.6 as well. you'll just need to measure the lug bolt length compared to the sl wheels to see what length you need.

hi phister, thanks a lot for your continuous help. from your previous threads and other people's as below:

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...fset-help.html

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ompressor.html

I understand that 225/40/R18 is good for the front and 255/35/R18 is perfect for the back. On the eBay auction link that I provided on the top, one pair of the tyres are 255/40/R18, I was wondering if I can use this pair of tyre at the back and purchase a pair of 225/40/R18 to put on the 8.5" wheels at the front?

Sorry for so many questions, and thanks a lot for your kindly help!!!

As long as the rears are the same size no. With the 40 series on the 255, it's going to be pretty beefy tires but if not lowered it'll be ok. You can either purchase 225/40/18 or 235/40/18. With the rears being 255/40, I'd 235/40 because the overall look of the car will look off with the thinner less beefy tire in front. It'll look like my gf IS250 what came with the sport tire setup and fronts looked all little and had a little stretch and the rears were beefy. Just looked off to me.

Thanks for the good advice phister! Just curious, coz I'm gonna get some second hand tyres, if I got some directional tyres at the back but non-directional tyres at the front, will the performance suffer? Cheers

Not really, I would get get some asymmetrical tire the rears since they trend to wear out quicker. I love my confidential dws, good all season tires. Asymmetrical means you can switch from left to right and vice versa.
