I found a local yard parting out a wrecked 2002 C Class...selling the phone components. The dealer tells me the 02 model year was available with either the TimePort or v60, depending on the manufacturing date. He's not sure what phone it was for and doesnt have the handset, but I'm looking for the v60.

Can anyone please verify the part numbers for the v60 cradle, fiber optic control unit, f/o cables, bumper antenna, PSE box and Voice Rec boxes for the v60 coupe option?
(I think that covers it all...if not, please advise)

 

Rick, the V60 and Timeport are significantly different in size and shape. If your V60 fits the cradle, it should be for a V60. I don't think you could stuff a Timeport into a V60 cradle.

 

Can you tell me which yard? I need some spare parts and I am in central NJ.

Lynn....thanks. I'm looking to set up a v60 and want to make sure the wrecked car's parts will work. The local dealer said there are 2 types of phone, the junk guy has no idea which phone this was, since he doesn't have the handset.

Umm.. I think I read somewhere that one of the reasons the MB phones were so expensive was that the handset had a non-standard circuit board, meaning that a normal V60 would not be fully integrated with the steering wheel buttons and the audio. Does someone know if that's right?

 

That is essentially correct. I don't know if the circuit board is different, but the firmware is.
