Question 2006 C230 Sport - Jacking w/o Stock Jack?

I'd like to know how you all are jacking up the front and rear of your vehicles without the use of the jack that came with your car.

I'll be venturing into replacing my brake pads and need to jack up the vehicle...obviously....to get the wheels off.

I don't want to damage the body, chassis or any other part under the vehicle.

Thanks.

In the front, there's a plastic puck dead center of the underbody cladding - you can see it. Put your jack there, then use stands in the jack positions on the sides of the car.

For the rear, I use the diff housing to jack from.

Thank you Tommy.

Once my wife makes it home...I'll give a visual to locate what you're referring to.

They are very obvious personally I use a hockey puck with the jack to help spread out the weight a little on the rear dif.

For probably forty years I've never worried about putting a car on four jack stands but when I was getting the blocks for the jack points from reverselogic.us (if you are interested in getting some, you may have to contact them as they only seem to list jack pads for use with a floor jack rather than a jack stand. If you don't, you will have to get or make something if only a piece of wood to fit in the jack point), he warned me not to do it (I do recommend his blocks for using stands on the car). Well, I see his point so I use ramps under the rear wheels and stands under the jack points in the front (jacking up the car as Tommy describes). I still think it's a bit overkill, but I also believe it's safer. You might want to consider this.

Thank you.

I did check out the referred to website and will be in touch with them to hear what they have to say personally about their products specifically to my model.

I think in the end though, I will opt for making something on my own. Just still at this point I'm worried I may damage the vehicle.

Man, I remember the days when you didn't have to word so much where you raised you car from....

So do I but those days are long gone now.
Reverselogic makes aluminum blocks with detent sort of things to hold then into the jack point while you arrange stands. A block of wood with a loop of duct tape would be the cheap way of doing it. Of course, there are lots of ways to skin that cat.

There are lift points at the front and sides of the car made of rubber. I've never jacked up the rear but I probably will take into consideration what Trey does if I ever have to. I use a 2 ton jack when I'm doing an oil change then use 2 safety stands that go on either side of the car. I don't trust that jack that comes with the car but I did play around with it one day and it did operate very smoothly lol.
