2007 C230 sport
Newbie needing some advice.

Hey all. While I'm waiting on some replies to my misfiring problem, I figured I'd pick your brains. On my 07 C230 sport, what would be the best bang for the buck when it comes to getting a little extra or more performance out of the little V6. I've seen chips or re-programmers advertise and cold air intakes etc... but don't know if they can be added alone or does that cause a chain reaction in parts buying? Don't want anything over the top, just a little more torque and acceleration maybe. I enjoy driving the car with the way it handles and sticks to the road, just saw some advertisements and was wondering if it's possible without spending $1000. Thanks y'all

Check with Eurocharged / OE Tuning to see what they offer.

Otherwise, your best bet would be to buy a new car; options are so small and insignificant in bennies that they're not worth it.

Unless you want to go down the route of weight reduction, which would involve lighter rims, seats, decontenting, etc.

Your best bet is to focus on improving the handling, then braking. A grand isn't gonna get you very far, though a tune would be in that range. Then maybe throw in some fresh plugs while you're at it.

I kinda figured that a different car might be the most popular response but wasn't sure what's available in the aftermarket world for it. I've had it for a little over 2 yrs and just didn't want to get bored with it. Still fun to drive on the twisty country roads tho. Thanks for the tips guys

Feel free to post some pics of it and we'll be happy to tear it apart, I mean offer suggestions.

Don't get us wrong, you do definitely have options. They just tend to be pretty hefty and offer questionable value. My car's fairly heavily modded for a W203/CL203, and the improvement in fun is not really all that great.

Nothin really special about it but it was clean, with 70k miles on it and in my price range. First one I've owned and can honestly say it's one of the best overall used cars that I've bought. Been looking at some newer models and I came across a 2012 C250 coupe, white with factory (I think) custom wheels, with spoilers and, I'd guess you'd call em, ground effects. Really nice and it stickered new for almost $43k. They want around $32k for it, and it's got 34k miles on it so... not sure, still browsing. Haha. Tried to copy and paste a few pics but it ain't workin out for me. Need to do it another way?

Couple options:
1). Post them on a picture hosting site like picture trail, etc., then you can imbed a link to that pic on your posts.
2) create a gallery on this site; the evil InternetBrands overlords here will host the pics and it's free. Then you do like option #1 above and imbed a link in your posts.
I've done both. If you're not going to need any pic hosting otherwise, option #2 makes more sense.
Hmmm - imho, a C250 is probably not enough of z difference from what you have to warrant the PITAness of trading in your current car. But if you dig it, that's what's important. Now, if you had said an E46 M3, if have a different opinion.
