little box on bumper of a 2005 C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan
ok my cousin just bought a 2005 C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan and we were admiring it when i noticed something on the rear bumper, its a little square door. about 2x2 inches with an arrow that was basically saying to push here, (it didnt say that but it was implying that by having an arrow pointing down) so i pushed it open to see what it was and i found that all it was, was a greasy hole behind it. i went around to the front of the car and found another one on the left side of the front bumper. i didnt get to open this one because my cousin saw what i was doing and thought i was going to break the car (it is only 2 days old).
so basically the whole point of this post is i would like to know if anyone could tell me what that "greasy hole" is for.
thanks

This hole is very important. If you look where your spare tire is you will see a tow hook that fits in the hole in the front and rear bumpers. This is a convenient way to strap the car down on the dyno, pull you out of the mud/ditch, or attach a rope too and have your friends skateboard off the back like water skis. It's original purpose was to strap the car down on the boat is came over on. My old coupe has the original strap down hook that was used in shipping the car. It's a lot beefier than the supplied tow hook.

youll notice most cars have those boxes on their bumpers these days. especially when the front and rear bumpers are low where you cant safely without body damage attach a tow hook/wench to a car.
