Question C230 Coupe mods information request

I’m became a new C230 coupe owner on August 28th. My coupe is a silver 2002 with Charcoal Leather, C1, C4, and C5 packages. It has no CD changer. *sigh* I'll probably get a changer on ebay and add it myself or have a local shop do the work.

I’ve been reading through the forums and have read about a lot of different mods. I am wondering if there might be a good resource somewhere that gives a sort of side by side comparison of them.

I’ve kind of fallen in love with the Lorinser roof wing. I’ve also been looking at the AMG and Renntech lip wings. Which is better, the 3 piece or the one piece? Are there any good pictures I might be able to use for comparison?

I’ve also been considering the C7 rubber studded aluminum pedals.

My dad has a corvette and receives a catalog for corvette parts from Mid America. Are there any catalogs like that for the Benz?

All help is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, most of whatever I end up doing will have to be Christmas gifts to myself as I spent most of my saved income on the down payment.

Let the information gathering begin.

There are quite a few members on here with aftermarket kits, rims, etc. definately not my style. OEM mods are the way to go IMO.

hi, congrats on your COUPE !
there are plenty of Coupe owners on these forums with lots of MOD experience. You can search by screen-name to see what they've done over the past year or so. Alternatively, search by mod type (ie wheels, roof wings, spoilers, pedals, etc...)
And finally check out the various web sites, many found on this forum's LINK page for shops that sell OEM and after-market goodies for the COUPE.
The only mail-order catalog for Mercedes, that I know of, is the PerformanceProducts.com one. Check their site out and request a FREE catalog.
Not much stuff on the COUPE though.

the only after-market stuff I have on my coupe:
- LORINSER Roof Wing
- CARLSSON RS Sport Suspension w/ BILSTEIN shocks
- RENNTECH ECU Upgrade
- SCHATZ plastic chrome crap
- PHILIPS SilverVision bulbs

everything else I've added is either OEM Mercedes or AMG parts.

If i am not mistaken, i dont think the 3 piece is available anymore since there were probs with it lining up, you can see a pic of the one piece here:

everyone is entitled to their own opinion, lord knows citron green is a family favorite, but i dont like rof wings for the coupe. just because the sit so far back on the glass. i know they have to in order to still be able to open the hatch, but it just looks out of place to me. just my $0.02 Carlos, not putting donw your wing, just stating my opinion. your coupey is coming along great BTW.

oh, I know Doug. No worries. It's all good ! The funny thing is I too don't like the way it sits 1 inch behind the window seam, but that's the way Lorinser designed it. A design flaw in my opinion. What I do like about it, is how it looks from behind, (it complements the AMG spoiler really well), and the fact that at 85 mph on the freeway it's an unique mod that definitely looks good from the side. (not enough time to measure the distance on the glass :p )

no worries dude. my XM antenna has to sit back from the edge in order to clear when i open the hatch. the roof wing does go well with you C32 AMG coupe a la mode though. mods on other cars look great to me. i think its a combo and personal touch everyone does to their individual car. some i dont like, dont get me wrong, but yours is a definate A+. it will be cool when its all done! a C32 coupe in the US is very very rare! keep up the good work Carlos!

where did you get convex euro mirrors?
i hate turning my head to check my blind spot, but at the same tiime i prefer the oem look over the little blind spot circle in the corner of my actual mirror. besides when i had that little mirror, i didn't use my actual mirror anymore.

I'm also looking to get rims but i don't know what kind of style to look at. I don't know what would look good. i have a silver c230 coupe

You get them from Steve, aka www.mbenznl.nl

They really are helpful. Kudos on bringing back a thread completely from the dead.

Haha I've been looking at many forums to find out what to do to my car. I really want to know. Are those mirrors really worth it. Is the blind spot completely revealed or slightly? Also do you know if 17 aftermarket ing rooms look good?

They show two lanes of traffic on either side. So yes, the blind spot is gone if your mirrors are adjusted correctly.

As for rims, I'd suggest looking at the rims thread here; there are a good many options, so you should be able to get a good feel for what you want out of that thread.
