greetingz,
Thanks for the commend steve, but yeah I am pretty satisfied and I dont think I got screwed because my light pattern is a perfect straight line now, so its ok.

oh, ok...I wasn't sure wether 1000USD is a good deal for bi xenons - that are known for their superior light at night - to be used with a flatline lightpattern which gives less useable light then with the halogen lights. If it is all about the upated look of the car that is to be driven in daylight it is OK, I guess.

greetingz,

Ok ok, I only meant by a flat cutoff pattern when it shines on a wall, without the ---\___---\___ . I am getting a very good visibility with it, but why did you have to get all over me? You have a lot of satisfied customes who bought their Bix from you, I am just another happy Bi xenon owner who bought it from some other guy....does that make me not welcomed to this board? Maybe you are right, it is just the updated look I wanted the most, anyways, I am still happy with the upgrade.

I am not all over you, I am just wondering why you are happy with a 'great deal' that isn't such a great deal at all...receiving lights meant for cars that are suposed to drive on the other side of the road isn't that much of a deal at all...a car with lights like that will never pass any TÜV or MOT/DOT check up here in Europe; but forget about it. I myself believe that headlights are parts of the car that are somewhat safety related; especially in the dark.

agreed... lights are a safety issue ! Steve, if you do get some more Bi-X (EURO spec) for the COUPE, let me know... I know they are getting harder & harder to find, in brand new / almost brand new condition. Would rather get without any rock chips, so that I can put some protective film on them before I install, since the rock chips are inevitable. But definitely want the EURO spec all the way ! thanks !

GixTom,

You could just be the unlucky one. The ones that I got only have a very tiny scratch which my wife with highly trained eyes couldn't catch.

$950 you were gonna sell me this:
YOU were the one who wanted to have a better deal then 1150USD for a new set and THIS is what I offered you for LESS then the usuall 1150 and THAT is why I send you a picture of the actual FLAW. As mailed BACK THEN, this WAS a light that I would use for PARTS and not for selling to anybody....YOU wanted a better price and YOU asked me what I could offer...and that was it.
YOU wrote that YOU would probably be able to polish out possible scratches - not ME.

now...flame ahead buddy

I got my both sets from Steve and both of them are in almost excellent condition. Almost no rock chip with very minor scratches that your hand can't even feel it. I only wish my US Bi-X on C320 is also an Euro-spec. Bi-x.
Cheers.

Exclamation Advice for Bi-xenon headlights

Appreciate any help on this topic.

My situation: I have a 2004 C320 that came with the OEM halogen headlights. I recently drove a car with Xenon lights and was amazed at the difference and now would like to know about retrofitting the bi-xenon lights for this car. First, has anyone successfully done it? I've seen some headlight assemblies on ebay and was wondering is it just as simple as switching out the old headlights for the new? Or is it more complicated than that (I briefly did a web search and found that some people said you have to take it to the dealership to program them). Is that the only extra thing that needs to be done?

Thanks a lot

oh wow! you really could find ALOT of info about this if you search for it. trust me it has been done more than you can imagine. they are just plug and play. plus youll need to have the computer set to xenon=present.

your gonna catch some flak for this one.

btw, welcome!

Nope, you've got it just about covered!

However, if you did read some of the prior post you should have also read that you'll have to fork over $1,200.00-$1,500.00 for the real factory Bi-Xenons and installation. But other that that you're all set.

screen shots of activating bi-xenon via star diag.

I recall seeing a website where someone had taken screen shots of the necesasry steps to activate the bixenons. Does anyone recall the website or have a list of the steps. Unfortunately I am in Sweden right now and I dont speak swedish so aside from doing the actual the activation I have a language barrier to overcome.

BTW, thanks Steve for letting me pick the lights up. Tell Wanda thank you also and sorry for showing up at her door so early in the morning.
