Your car's harness does not have the connectors for the autoleveling system. Fitting a harness which does have those connectors would be expensive and difficult.

don't be alaramed when they start to flicker. This will happen until you set the system to "xenon present"

Lynn...

Does that mean I must have to get a new harness or connectors from the newer model from the dealer to make it work on my car? Is it alright to have no auto leveling connectors plug in the headlights?

thx

I just went to try the bi-xenon. It kind of works and it blinks a little after I turn it on. Anyway, how about the auto leveling system (the plug and the system)? Do you know how much does it cost to get that? Is it easy to install?

thx

Jeff

It is illegal in Europe to have xenon or bi-xenon headlights without autoleveling and headlight washers. Cars sold in the US with xenons or bi-xenons have those items, but I'm not sure if it is required. I doubt that anyone, including state safety inspectors would notice. Converting to the harness with the autoleveling circuits would be very expensive. Just make sure they are ained properly and be very careful using the high beams if you have passengers in the back and/or a load in the trunk.

geez.....it certainly look nice on the car. I didn't even notice that there are alot of problems. It already cost like $1200 to buy the bi-xenons and now have to worry about getting pull over by cops...

you are more likely to get pulled over for no front plate or no seatbelt then for the xenons

Yes. No front plate. Cost like $100. But is ok, at least it cost only $10 for fix up (get a cop to sign). I got many tickets for tinted windows and front plate. If you want to get it sign for fix up ticket try look for someone with a badge no. and scribble the signature. It works for my friends. If you want to do it....take your own risk.

Yes, they should fit, but on rhd cars, the bi-xenons are angled slightly to the left to prevent glaring oncoming traffic.

I don't know if they are adjustable?

Sure they will fit as the cars are designed that way. But you are forgetting that the illumination pattern is opposite because of the side of the street they drive on.

...slightly is an understatement...the light pattern is completely mirrored...different reflectors, flipping covers and projectors...

Hong Kong's dealer said it's adjustable if need to drive to Mainland China.

HK is RHD and China is LHD.

Don't think it is a "true" reversal. Steve posted some pics showing the difference between US spec and EURO spec. At that time he pointed out some feature on the EURO spec that would reduce the light spread on the passenger site -> going from _/ to __ pattern. Maybe the RHD has a similar feature to drive in LHD countries.

it IS adjusteable...but only in a way to blank out the upgoing angle that blinds uncoming traffic...the lights cannot be mirrored so hat the UK spec \___ becomes euro spec ___/ . The only thing that can be done is creating a straight line ____

The Dealer Won't Activate Bi-xenon Settings...help!!!

My car's at the dealer getting serviced, so i figured that since i'm getting it back tomorrow i'd call and ask the tech to activate my bi-xenon settings since i've decided that's going to be my next upgrade...

he said that he isn't allowed to do that for me because he'd be liable for any malfunctions that occur from the new lights since his shop isn't installing them. so, i told him that i'd pay them to do the install, n he isn't allowed to install them for me either. so then i asked him...where can i get the lights activated then? his answer: "i don't know..." I was suprised he said no because i'm pretty cool with him.

Anyone have a solution?? Can i take my car to another benz dealer n have them do it if i didnt buy my car from them?

Does anyone in the NJ/NY/Penn area know of a dealer or a shop that can activate the lights?

Thanks!

maybe u should install bi-xenons first and then go to the dealer... every dealer says different things, so u may wanna try a different dealer to set xenon present. r u gettin' OEM bi-xenons or aftermarket?
