Bi-X: W203/CL203 OEM Bi-XENON Upgrade, Auto-Levelling & Programming thread
You can't beat that price ! Just ask at a dealership how much these things cost.
You'll be begging for a set from Steve !

..Actually i happened to be in the shop last night and asked them that exact question..... How does $1200........... per LIGHT, grab ya??
Gaby, maybe here in Puerto Rico we're not #1 but then again sometimes it's better not to be!!!

I found two cars that I like that have everything but bix. I know it is possible for $1000 or so and a helpful service advisor you can install bix yourself. It looks like there are two disadvantages to that vs having them installed from the factory.
- You won't have auto leveling due to the sensors not being present.
Does this make a difference after the initial leveling done when the headlamps are installed? I guess I am confused as to what this function do if the lights are leveled from the start.
- You won't have the headlamp washing system.
Does anyone that have this ever use it? Ive never had this on any car and I have never thought "Wow if I had headlamp washers I would use it now!"
Otherwise, under normal circumstances if your headlamp lenses are dirty, just wait until you get home and WIPE THEM WITH A TOWEL. You'll save yourself (as Bwinkle said) from getting washer fluid all over your hood which you'll just have to clean up again later.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
the way i see it though, it is cheaper to get them from factory than it is to retrofit. you get more features, retarded or not, for a cheaper price. that doesnt sound too retarded to me.
True. I'm just saying you don't have to cry if you don't get the washers because you retrofit later.

I actually tried to use them today and tried to take a video of it. What I got--a hood full of soap that I had to rinse off...
:edit:
oh, the other good reason for factory BIX, at least in the retarded state of hawaii, is because they're legal if that's the way your car left the factory. any installs post-sale, no matter their OEM-ness, is technically illegal, and you can get ticketed for it, or fail the yearly safety check if the inspector is a *****/calls you on your lie (not having the washers is a sure indicator to the savvy inspector) so when I ordered the car, BIX were a *must*

As for the washers. I use mine quite a bit, but I do not use the soapy MB fluid so it is fine with me. Most of the time I use them in the rain and not when the car is dry. I had to switch fluids though form the nice Rain-X to normal since it leaves Rain-X on the hood and I do not like that. I use them mostly in the winter time or when the front is dirty and it is raining. They are heated and blast the dirt off nicely on mine. Also blast off snow in the winter time and the grime from the road and salt. But in the south and warmer climates they are more for show I would say. They don't do much if you are not moving, since they blast and have no wipers. Although they are less messy when you are not moving. I use mine, but then again I use my heated seats a ton to.
There's a very important feature that you left out of buying the factor BIX...
THE WARRANTY If you buy aftermarket you're basically on your own. If you buy the originals, you're looking at $1,200-$1,500 installed and programmed vs. a $790 factory option that had the levelers, washers, no dismantling and a WARRANTY.
Just my $.02 (or whatever the current inflation value is)
