Help. I need a Passenger side Bi-Xenon headlamp from 2004 to present W203 sedan

Only piece left to replace is the headlamp. Anyone have one? Must be factory bi-xenon. Thanks.

Thanks Everyone!

I gave it a good tug and got it out! The driver's side wasn't too bad but the passenger's side was a pain in the *** to get out and put back in!

Anyway, thanks everyone for the help!

Yup. exactly! They are a pain in the ***. Getting them back in is a pain also, but after a little bit of patience, it's really a very simple task (just a pain).

Why are you gonna have a Dealership install the headlights?

I say, install the headlights yourself, have a dealership set the xenon lighting to present and you're all set. The headlights should not be difficult to take off/install.

Do It Yourself
should be pretty easy, just need to remove bumper
are they real mercedes lights?
would you be interested in selling them?

Wow, $325 for complete install (including Star Diag. programming)! That's insane. I can't believe they would charge that much (then again, yes I can).

The little things I take for granted being able to do.

So, I guess it's a good deal, baodovvn.

haha, that and i got ripped off for the install but iwas told they could program too so i figured why not, of course you know my story, all the problems i had, and yes i literally begged to get mercedes to do it, i called about 5 dealerships and then decided pull a guilt trip - i could die if they turn off in the middle of the night and that worked.

anyway, i had a post up about this before, i had a defective one so i had to get it replaced and the guys i paid $250 replaced it for free and it didnt looked that easy. LOL. i wised you lived in Van Drex.

My bodyshop quoted me $100 for the install ..
However, I decided to do it myself and it turns out good + my dealer did the stardiagnose for free ..
It takes me the longest to locate and take the metal reinforcement off .. But apart from that, it is not supposed to be that difficult to DIY ..

That's pretty cheap considering that they will align the beams for you and code the car.

I have seen some shocking DIY jobs. The panels and the gaps dont match up well at all and then the beams are pointing all over the place. In my opinion that money saved can make the driving unsafe if the lights do not work as intended.

The worst one is when Australian owners DIY USA or Euro lamps and the lights are totally wrong for Australia.

I agree, it's a great deal considering the work involved removing the bumper cover, the alignment and the xenon=present coding that must be done.

BTW, in Australia, you have the mount the headlamps upside down since the whole country is upside down...

We just spend a lot of time recoating our tyres with double sided tape.

When we launch rockets we dont need any fuel at all. We just release them and they fall into space.

You could also just roll the car over....some of the stuff I saw driving to Alice Springs was hard to tell if it was upright or not.

Just check out Buellwinkle's site for a DIY write up... although I am not sure if all those glasses of beer will actually help you get the install done properly.

greetingz,

C200k Coupe (AMG)
Changing Bi-Xenon to symmetrical for continental travel

OK, searched for this but could find an answer (something close in an SL thread that ran out of steam..).

I have a UK C200k coupe with BiXenon HID headlamps.

I'm travelling to continental Europe in 2weeks and need to change the beam pattern from right hand drive - i.e. from an asymmetrical pattern to symmetrical.

Rang the dealer, says to look in manual, read the manual........says to speak to dealer.

Apprently there is just a lever you have to use to make the switch but can't find it anywhere in the engine bay.

Please help!!??

I do not know where it is since I do not have a Euro Coupe, but it should be on the headlight itself, probably on top of one of them, whichever needs the actual change. Start there looking for some sort of lever as I assume it just changes reflector position and is probably mechanical and not electrical. Good luck.

a quarter mile at a time
if you're talking about the beam pattern for the bix, i'm pretty sure you need to change the shield within each projector to achive a flat cutoff instead of the stepped one.
