Bi-X: W203/CL203 OEM Bi-XENON Upgrade, Auto-Levelling & Programming thread
Basically, the beam pattern for UK cars is: \_____ \_____ (to light up the kerb more than oncoming traffic)
For European travel, they need to be altered to: _____ _____ (so as not to blind the french).
Apparently, with some cars (like the E-Class) or certain models there is a switch/lever that you can change yourself to alter the beam pattern. Pic below is from the E-Class:

But on my car (C-Class coupe, 2004) you have to take it to a dealer and get them to do it. Its booked in on Saturday morning and hopefully will be gratis, but if not the fleet company can pay. Will close off the thread with the detail on how its done on sat in case anyone is interested.
WHY it is different for different models/ages or car in the same range I have NO idea!!??

Thanks also to forum member, MUSTARD for his helpful PM
OK, while I appreciate I'm the only weird Brit interested/obsessed about this I though I'd comment from seeing the dealer this morning in the interests of science and closing off a thread...
So, went to the dealer this morning, courteous/knowledgeable, took the car in the back, gave me a cup of coffee, 8mins later, car ready, waiting out front, no charge, 'come back in sir when you return so we can reverse it....'
Apparently with the C-Class there is a switch inside the highlight unit, but compared to other models it is next to impossible to reach and rather fiddly to change unless you're a Mercedes spanner monkey.
Fair enough but begs the question, why design it like this in the first place! at least there’s no charge, and I'd recommend to fellow travellers to ring round the dealer network to find a dealer that knows about this peculiarity and won't charge for it!
first, I'm going to sell my Bi-Xenon headlights, but I read somewhere that mine looks like non bi-xenon. how can I identify the real ones? I still have the receipt that says these are MBZ Euro spec Bi-Xenons, here's some pics of mine

I already have someone interested for these but I need to be safe about it first, don't wanna rip someone.
second, is it hard to remove them? anyone has step by step instructions for headlights removal? any help would be very appreciated...
Thanks
When taking them off, be very careful to wait about an hour after the car has been turned off so the high voltage system can ground itself out. And I'm sure that you know to take out the key, etc.

I'm selling them because I want to make the car looks stock again, since I already took out the Brabus wheels, might as well take the bix out.

I can't tell you if they are genuine EU Bix. What I can tell you is that the US spec bix have a tiny horizontal line through the middle of the projector. The euro spec projector is known to not have this thin horizontal line.
The other thing I noticed are the lines pointing forward from the projector out on the bottom of the housing. Those lines are wider and there are fewer of them on my US factory bix.
