Hid In Foglight Question (please Help)

Hi guys I have a 2005 C230 sport Kompressor sedan. I bought a JDM 9006 HID kit to install in the fog lights. When my installer went to install they he said the HID bulb was too long and could not fit. I was wondering what kind of HID bulb or kit will work in my fog lights. Please Help!!!!!!!!

I think he has a valid issue. I hate how yellow the fogs look when they are used with the Xenon lowbeams. I don't even turn my fogs on because of this fact. I think having yellow halogen bulbs alongside an expensive Xenon setup, is cheap looking.
I will probably look into PIAA for a fog bulb replacement that is a "xenon" look color output.

Except that in foggy condition the yellow fog lights will provide you better depth perception. Are you after safety and visibility or do you want to look cool?

Maybe I should've described the stock bulbs as "non-white" instead of yellow.

If the fogs were in fact "yellow" then it would be different. (like on the IS300)
They're not yellow, so I can't see them being that much safer than a set of xenon type bulbs.

I honestly have not had any issues driving in the limited amount of fog here in Orlando, so yes, I'm going for looks. I'm a safe enough driver in adverse conditions that I can actually do that.

You are pretty much defeating the purpose of fog lights and their ability to see further in inclimate weather, by replacing them with HID lights. Yellow and lower spctrums of white lighting have much lower kelvin temp, therefor they work better for driving in such inclimate conditions as Fog, rain, snow, etc. The HID's will make the fog your driving thru look like huge pile of cotton *****. with HID's the fog will appear to be thick, and lot of the unneccesary light which is produced by HID, will reflect off the water particles in the fog. bacailly making your situation much worse.

Personally I have yellow fogs in my car.

I changed my hi beam to a whiter light bulb, it doesn't eliminate the road better compare to stock high beam. Non white fog light has a purpose, i'll probably change it to HID with colour temperature no more than 4300K.

Does anyone have a PIAA Super White light bulb in their crystal clear fog light? I also have bi-xenons and want to eliminate the "yellowish" beam and replace it with a true white beam to match the bi-xenons. I'm afraid that the PIAA light bulbs will reflect blue during the daytime. Anyone know of a solution to have a matching white beam, and not to have a blue reflection during the daytime?

everyone has different opinions, many of us care more about how the lights look over visibility. I changed my fog lights to PIAA w/ a purple look to it. The PIAAs actually matches the stock bi-xenons really well because the stock bi-xenon's are only 4300K. If anyone wants to see how they look I can put up some pictures.

I actually always wanted to match fogs with HID's, but now I think that either setup looks good. Cities are little too orange next to the HID's though...

my bixenon and foglights look yellow in this picture. I dont know why, but you can see they do match. Maybe its because I have a crappy camera. Anyway, if I get better pictures ill post it.

I like the contrast as well. I was initially thinking of changing them at first, but I really do like the contrast of the bi-xenons with the halogens...

Here's a pic.
