i kept the dealer plates. the ones from mercedes-benz of san diego are really nice IMO> they are solid chrom like above, say San Diego on top Mercedes-Benz on the lower part with a three-pointed star on each side of mercedes-benz.

Yeah, the dealership parts dept. has quite a few really nice chrome frames with different MB lettering. There are some with "KOMPRESSOR" in your car's color too that I have seen (except CITRON, probably a special order though).

I had my Mercedes-Benz of San Diego frames for a while. Like Doug said, really nice chrome finish. They are now hanging on my garage wall, after I swapped them for an European (German) plate up front and AMG chrome frame (from the dealer) in the back. The Euro front plate has since been removed due to my new AMG front bumpers. Here's a pic of the rear frame:

Citron,

I think it would look as nice with your color as well, at least that my opinion.

For the plates, I just ordered one from Brabus and should get it next week. I will also be installing my new Brabus v 18" in about a week. I decided to get Nitto tires.

The plate listed above you can get at any Mercedes dealer. Here is where i usually order all my Mercedes parts through www.parkplacetexas.com

Take care.

sounds kind of ghay, but i need license plate frames / brakets...

Is there any place to get some cool license plate brakets/covers?

I just got my plates yesterday, and don't want it bouncing around with two screws attaching it, so I used the free-be dealer brakets they give you. I want to use them, but I don't believe in free advertizement for dealerships... And I don't want to get some wanabe AMG crap from eBay...

Anyone have any suggestions for me...

PS: car is a Black 05 coupe

TIA,

Tom

Griot's....about the same price as the rest but better quality. I choose 4 hole (thinner frame at bottom) with plastic cover in plain chrome. Wanted polished stainless but couldn't find it. I don't get putting the car/model type on the frame. There's already enough badging on cars. Are you going to have a front license plate?

Unfortunately the dealership already drilled holes in the front bumper before I could stop them, and my local body shop wants too much to have the holes filled and painted.... so, figured why not (although I don't want to).

I also agree with your statement about the badging... I realized that it would be overkill shortly after I posted.

I know this sounds crazy, but check out walmart and target. I picked up a plain black metal frame which looks nice against the black car. Only cost a couple of bucks.

Someone also posted once that they found little flat plugs at the local hardware store, painted them body color and was happy with the result.
