I went and bought a PNY 8 GB card. However I don't know if it's just my car but when I turn the vehicle off and then turn it back on, it takes about 5 seconds to load the memory card.. It will say reading memory card each time.

Picked up the Sandisk 6-1 adapter this afternoon, plugged in my SDHC card and inserted in the PCMCIA slot in the car. Works like a charm! I prefer using the card better than my ipod. The SDHC card can be pulled out without ejecting the Sandisk adapter.

I bought a Compact Flash Extreme III 8.0 GB, thr pc card adapter, I copy my music from my pc and it does not work on the car.
Any suggestions???

i hate when one bottlenecks the other, would be great to just know what already works FAST from somebody that already has it set up

I didn't even think about it, just copied files to a 1GB SD card, stuffed it into the adapter and it worked just fine. Had to select the AUX input. Normal SD is a DOS-like format. If you have a different format, it may not work.

I noticed on mine that when I popped in one of my other SD cards that had a folder on there with songs in it, plus folders with other stuff, it wouldn't read them. I had to get rid of the non-MP3 files. It skipped over my ogg stuff fine but didn't like the ****. 
I've had to re-seat my mini-sd cards a couple times in my SanDisk 6-1 in order to get it to read. Not sure if it's the card reader or the mini-sd adapter.

Finally got a 8gb Sandisk SDHC but unfortunately I can't find the Sandisk Adapter in Hong Kong Sandisk store they told me it's phase out it seems I have to find a way and buy in in USA.

I use .mp3 and .wma (windows media audio) format on my micro sd w/ adaptor or my compact flash. doesnt really mater what card u use, once it fits the PCMCIA adaptor.
Also the card must be formated. you can do so, by inserting the whole PCMCIA card into your labtop. or taking the card out and connect it using an adaptor to your pc.
right click and hit format. or you can format it on the camera you may be using. then add the files back and it should work

It is possible. It is easy.
Put the DVD which has MP3 files ( Does not matter if you have organized the folders on the DVD )
Now go to Audio
Select the Media as Music Register and then select I think Music register from the bottom Menu.
Then you will have an option copy files to Music register.
then select the folder or folders of Music you want to copy.
then select start.
Its kinda slow but it will copy over the mp3 files in the same folder structure as in the DVD and accessing the songs is fast. 1.5GB transfer takes upto 20 mins
alsi I would like to know , any PCMCIA card adaptor will work right. not only Sandisk. And then in that card adaptor you can use any supported memory card that adoptor can fit. and support ??
