Panorama Sunroof

Does the panorama roof sunroof slide open up like the regular sunroof? Can someone please post a pic of the pano roof showing how it looks it open from both the inside and outside. Thanks

From the inside it looks similar to a regular sunroof, just a little wider.
I dont have the picture from the inside, but here it from the outside.

My question is, can you close each shade on the inside individually or only both at the same time?

Can or should the car be driven when the pano roof is in that open position?

1. No, you cant close one shade at a time, and afcourse, you neet to have the shades open to either slide or tilt the roof. (yes, it can tilt upwards also, like a regular sunroof).

2. Yes, you can drive perfectly fine with the roof on any position.

I would of been all over the pano roof but the fact that you can't leave the back shade closed and open the shade or roof in the front was a deal breaker for me...

You have to buy an S-Class with Panorama Sun Roof to get that feature. I hardly use it unless the sun shines into the eyes of the rear passengers.

I respect your prefferences, but I don't see why this is so important. In fact, i think it would be pointless.

I highly recomend the pano. It is my favorite feature on the car by far. It looks awesome from the outside and it is impressive from the inside. For only $1000 I would say it is a must.

Can anyone please post more pics of the pano roof open from different positions. Also, is it possible to drive with the pano sunroof section open, the pic I saw shows the roof in the open position atop of the rear pano? I have one on order but I wanted to be sure. Thanks

I specifically went to the mb dealer to look at the pano roof on the c-class because I thought it was "cool"

here's what I found out:

As stated above, only the front section opens like a regular sunroof, the back section is solid glass and doesn't open. The sun shades work together, so when the front sunshade is closed, so is the back (it looks really cool - it rolls up between the two glass openings). And they both open together.

When you open the sunroof itself, it works like a regular sunroof except it opens on the outside of the vehicle and slides over the rear pano. Since its glass, it doesn't block the rear view.

The switch to control all of this is overhead above the rearview mirror. I specifically rode in the back of the c-class with the pano roof and I really liked the added view. when the sunshade is closed its pretty dark - it "almost" doesn't let any light shine through. I couldn't tell for sure becuase it was later afternoon early evening when we drove it and I don't know how much light will come through at 12:00 noon.

I suspect that you will really enjoy your pano roof.

Absolutely not! They designed it specifically so that you can only open it up when the car is stationary, in park with the parking brake applied.

Once the roof is open can the car be driven with the roof open?

sar·casm [sahr-kaz-uhm]
noun
1. harsh or bitter derision or irony.
2. a sharply ironical taunt; sneering or cutting remark: a review full of sarcasms.

yes, you can drive with the roof open, and you can open it while moving too . . .

. . . but only with an attorney present (see above definition).

my apologies, i had to do it . . .

I can close and open the pano in my car as I please. I drive with it open all the time (well... used to before the temp became 20 here in MA) I have closed it while driving 60+, no problem.

It's pretty much just like a regular sunroof, just bigger.

With two young kids in the back, it's not pointless... If I wasn't driving them each day I would of been all over that roof, I really liked it on the car I test drove.

I'm sorry man, and if this offends you then you might want to consider not taking yourself so seriously.

But do you really think they'd have a sunroof that you couldn't open while the car was moving? I mean, come on. Really. Think about it for a second before getting in a tizzy about canceling the option order.

On the MB website the pics of a Pano are very vague. I ordered it anyway C 350 loaded coming in Jan. , it's a done deal. Thanks all for the feedback.
