Illuminated Door Sills - W204

Has nanyone here ordered and installed illuminated door sills from
http://www.Formymercedes.com or any other source?

How does the quality compare to those sold at the MB Part Department?
Is it simple enough to be considered a DIY project?

TIA for any information.

I'm wondering this as well, are these the same as the MB parts or different? hmm. I heard it's not a DIY project though and is terribly difficult, but these do look identicle to the ones MB sells.

Regards,

Daniel

They are dealer accessories here in Canada. I went to the dealership last week and saw it was an accessory worth $375 I believe and $400 for installation.

They are aftermarket. Not the same in quality and/or how they install - electrically speaking.

Beng,

It could be DIY. But you will need to fuse them and not just juryrig them like the instructions call for in the older w203s. For quality see above.

I am not aware of illuminated sills being part of the Canadian standard equipment for W204. There was one C300 Luxury model with illuminated sills (only the front ones) on display at the dealer showroom, but it is being billed as a dealer installed option.

I placed an order this afternoon with them ($575 for the OEM version) but received an email back, stating that they need to "verify the price with Mercedes" to ensure that the price is still the same ??? I emailed them back and asked them to honor their price posted on their website (this price hasn't changed on their site for months). I will find out tomorrow whether it is or isn't going to be honored.

Does anyone have a shopping experience with this site?

Received a reply from the company and after a little convincing they are honoring the advertised price They are placing the order for it today.

What kinda surprised me was the fact that they haven't sold any of these sills in the last few months. I guess people were waiting for the DIY instructions from VIC VIPER and ET0609 (Thanks again guys)

I have purchased and installed the OEM illuminated doorsills for a C300 W204.

The install of the wiring and doorsills itself went very well but I am puzzled how to get them hooked up to the fusebox. my car does not have the interior fusebox so I had to feed the cable through to the fusebox in the engine compartment and that is where I am stuck.

The cable coming from the doorsill harness has a fuse holder that is supposed to be inserted into the fusebox but I cant figure out how that can be done.

The instructions state the following:
"10.1 Remove front SAM control unit with fuse and Only on vehicles without interior fuse relay module (N10/1) box (F34). Do not disconnect electrical
connectors.Model 204.0 /2 AR54.21-P-1260CW"

Anybody that can help?
