Congrats Jimmy !!
I still remember when i got my ride in 2007 and everyone was waiting on these clears to come out and i just on them like the same day hehehe they make such a huge difference in the look of the C but then again 95% of C owners probably wouldn't even know the difference ??

Just installed the left side.....not too bad.....took about 30 minutes because I did not realize that the screw was supposed to come out first, so like another member on here, I was pushing and pushing the tab for about 10 minutes before I realized that the screw has to come out.
My screw is just a regular phillips screw, not a hex screw.
The right side of the car on the other had is a royal pain in the a**. I have been messing with it for 30 minutes and had to give up. I got the old unit out but I am having so much trouble getting the new unit in. I guess its because I am having to use my left hand more and I am right handed.
I will try again tomorrow.........my hands are all red and tore up from messing with that right side.

THANK YOU!!!
These step by step directions saved me a ton of time and energy! I ordered the lights not too long ago and should be in today. I had to replace one that cracked some how, less than a month after I bought my '08 C300 sport. So I just opted to replace both of them at the same time as I hate the orange/abmer colored side markers.
Take care!

There are several posts for them still, but they are by the manufacturer STREET TUNE. Here is an example of the title similar to the ones I bought ...
DEPO 08-10 BENZ W204 C-CLASS CHROME SIDE MARKER LIGHTS
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DEPO-...Q5fAccessories
I just finished instaling them and the directions above were right on, they fit perfectly, and look amazing! They sent amber bulbs with the ones I bought, but I left the stock ones in and they shine clear/white just like the headlights. 100% satisfied!!! Thanks for saving me money and time guys!

read this thread. saw a few black cars with these installed, anyone have more pics of these on a black car? im thinking about buying a set but am not sure how the trim of these markers would look on my black c300. wish they had a set with black or dark gray

Hmmm... I'm fine with the ones I bought. They definitely don't look cheaply manufactured (or at the least not like you've described). $46 ain't cheap, but it's just plastic.
The smoked side markers are essentially clear plastic fronts over black plastic inner housings. The reason why they don't look as black as they are is because of the ripples in the clear plastic that bounces the light off of it.

I just installed clear lenses on my C63. Didn't need to remove the fender liners. I simply reached into the fender well under the hood and made the switch. Took 10 minutes max to complete both sides. Didn't encounter any torx screws or any other screws for that matter. Maybe there is more room under the hood on the 63. Love the look!

Smoke Side Markers Installed
I installed several mods this weekend on our new to use 2009 C300 4matic. One included the smoke side markers for the steel gray car. They look very nice if I do say so myself.
I've attached a photo of one installed without the light on and one with the light on. Easy 10 min mod.

I'll bore you with some DOT code that I found in the Jeep forums. This is enforced on a state level from my understanding.
NJ code:
TITLE 39 MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC REGULATION
39:3-50 Color of lights, permits; cancellation or revocation of permits; fee.
39:3-50. All lamps and reflectors, which display a light visible from directly in front of a vehicle as authorized by this subtitle, shall exhibit lights substantially white, yellow or amber in color.
(a)The color of light emitted or reflected by exterior lamps or reflectors on a vehicle shall be as follows, except as otherwise provided in paragraphs (b), (c) and (d) of this section:
White when the lamp is a headlamp, or spot lamp, or illuminates a license plate or a destination sign; or is located on the outside limit of a side car or other attachment on a motor cycle;
Substantially white or amber when the lamp is a side-cowl or fender lamp, running-board or other courtesy lamp, front parking lamp, back-up lamp, auxiliary driving lamp; or a turn signal on or facing the front;
Substantially red or amber when the lamp is a turn signal or a stop lamp on or facing the rear;
Red when any other lamp or any reflector is on the rear or on either side at or near the rear, except as otherwise provided in paragraph (f) of section 39:3-61 for a combination marker lamp;
Amber when any other lamp or reflector is on the front or on either side other than at or near the rear.
(b)Lamps and reflectors on projecting loads shall emit or reflect light with color as provided in section 10 of this act.
(c)No person shall drive or move any vehicle or equipment upon any street or highway equipped with any device or lamp thereon capable of or displaying a light of any other color than permitted by this section, except: an authorized emergency vehicle, an authorized school bus, or a vehicle authorized by a permit issued by the chief administrator.

Just incase someone is looking for these...i got mine this week from ebay (link below) and the fitment is pretty good. I'll keep an eye out for condensation when it rains in a couple of days but I doubt anything will happen since i just wash my car with a hose and it looks pretty dry.

Do a search on ebay for "c63 clear markers" and you'll get results. Bought mine from seller "fishcake123". Excellent transaction, also bought extra bulbs from him. Easy install on C63, 10 minutes max.

My Opinion:
On a black car, the smoked corner lenses don't really match well. I would suggest buying the clear or painting them black. The smoked lenses work better for light colored cars, especially silver/grey. I'm thinking about painting the plastic border black, because it looks almost white.
Also, my C350 Sport had a t20 screw on the back of the housing. Pain in the *** to remove, but helps make the lenses fit on snug. There are no gaps and fits almost oem.

Quick question taking out the sidemarkers..... When I took out the fender lip and I look at the stock sidemarker, it is mounted by a screw. Is that screw a 5 star screw?? cuz I can't really see it. I tried it w/ my phillip screw drive and it doesn't grasp on to the screw at all.
