Guys: If you have an 08 with dealer updates or an 09 your menu will be different but the mod will work. Just follow the directions to the HU menu, it won't say "enable back-up camera", but you will see three selections. I can't remember the name but chose the first selection, turn off the car, take out the key wait 5min, turn it back on and the camera should work fine. Hope that helps.

Anyone figure out how to get the Video Aux to work constantly instead of working only in Reverse? I wonder if you turn Video Aux "ON" and Backup Camera option to "SRVC", and if the backup camera is given constant power (instead of how you guys had connected the power wire to the backup light which means the camera only powers up when in reverse), that way even when the car is not in reverse there is a way to display the camera on video (obviously we'd add some other video source in the future).
Anyone try this? On the screen I do not see any option to display Video Aux. If I go into Video there is only the DVD. And I believe the Aux under Audio is just for the audio Aux port in the glove compartment.
Anyone?

Apparently you cannot use both Rear Camera and Video Aux source at the same time. Another cool option I found is that you can set Navigation as "Uninstalled" and then set Navigation Retrofit to "Installed", and that way the Mercedes Navi menu dissappears but if you press the Navi button on the Comand it will go to the Video source, which it I think assumes it to be an external retrofit Navigation system. This is perfect for us in Korea where the Mercedes Navigation does not work.
Also under Navigation Retrofit there is "Installed RGB" option, which I assume is a different connector than the FAKRA in the back - anyonw how this might connect to the Comand?
Finally, anyone know how to access the Prohivitive Parameters section in the menu? I read on a German forum that one guy had this option come up in the Engineering menu, and you could actually set the speed at which the Video stops displaying (alah, Video in motion!!!). Maybe this is available to the updated SW, if anyone here has their software updated and can check for this menu that would be great. Below is the full list of parameters in the Engineering menu of a C-class in Germany...

So you figured out how to get Vehicle in Motion by changing this option?
[Prohibition setting]
TV/Video: Dis > 5km/h(3)
[Prohibition setting]
TV/Video: Dis > 5km/h(3)
Figure it out. If you turn off Rear Camera and the just turn on Video Aux (remember to make each change, turn the car off and wait 20 seconds and then turn car on), then on the screen when you go to Video and click on it it will first try and load a DVD but click on Video again and you will that now there is DVD Video and Aux. Click Aux and it will automatically go to full screen mode and menu's will dissappear - I got scared here cuz I thought I blanked out the screen, but actually if you move the Comand knob the menu's will come up again.

that would be sooooo sweet if you could just adjust the MPH up to 100 or something, and then VIM would work without an adapter and having to yank your head unit out, risking damage and scratches...
We should keep this topic bumped, cus this would quickly turn into the number one mod if it was true...
