Back up camera

I have a problem...i installed the camera and set the option to SRVC and waited 10 minutes with the doors closed ...but when i put in reverse nothing happens....i have istalled a vim module...doaes that affect this ?!?

Did anyone ever verify that withou Xentry/DAS, we can get to the following menu?

Go to service menu and then settings.. make sure that rear view cam is enabled there as well...

is there any place where i can get the backup camera installed. I am not a DIY guy and wont be able to do it myself. And any ideas as to how much it will cost ?

Torrance, CA. It's part of LA. That price is just for labor, so if you include the price for the parts from Midcity it came out roughly to I think 11-1200? Try asking midcity engineering. I think they're located in Chicago, and maybe they'll do the install for you and give you some discount if you buy their part.

Any car stereo installer can do this in about an hour it is very easy if you follow the DIY directions that have been posted here. Don't forget to watch the You-Tube video on how to remove the stereo. The hardest part is running the video cable from the trunk to the dash.

I dont have backup option on mine so is that mean i cant just buy the camera and wires to install the camera?

Just found out cool stuff this day :
While in motion , press Up and Down arrows on the steering wheel in same time. Keep pushing for 5 secs , and look at the screen. You should be able to activate the camera while driving and watch behind you !!

And by the way , if MidCity comes here , before installing the module , the BT was constently on , pairing with my phone automaticly. Now , with the module , there's a message asking if I want to activate BT. Can't we overpass this message because I have to press Yes each time .... Annoying....

It happen because the way set the jumper on the VIM box was wrong (the way you set it was VIM always in active) . Make sure you set all 3 numbers OFF. Use the Hang Up call button to activate the VIM when needed.

Help... I have gone through the whole forum with regards to backup camera but I can't seem to get it to function. I have a 2008 c200 compressor with the mm package. I went through all the steps posted on this forum... Ie press hang, 1 and # to go into the engineering mode then into hu parameter, change rearview camera to installed, went into system and activate reverse gear, took out the car key waited for 5 mins yet i could not get the check background screen on. I have tried everything I gathered from various posting in this forum and nothing seems to work.
Any help, suggestions are much appreciated.

Thx c300ca for your response but yes I have followed everything. I disabled the aux video yet without success... Hope someone here could help. I have already done up all the necessary needed for a backup camera... Mounted n pulled all the wiring already, just can't seem to get the check surrounding frame... I m so used to having a reverse camera.

Hi mbgt, any success after the software upgrade? I am also having problem with vim. After installation the vim, initially it works but an hour later it will stop working as soon as I reach 20kmh. Before it was 5kmh. Still can't get both backup camera n vim to function. Any suggestions will much be appreciated

Just like to share my experience. I managed to get everything to work finally. I took it to the dealers place to upgrade my software. Initially the upgrading had a problem as halfway through the process everything stalled. I had to remove the Vim in order the upgrade of software to b successful. After the upgrade and following the other treads in here I managed to get both the vim n backup camera to work. I am a happy man here. Just thought I share.
