Blizzak's! No need to say anything more if you've tried them.

What do you want out of these tires?
All snow/ice or snow/ice and some dry...

The Bridgestone Blizzak and Toyo Observe are good, but the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R is the best for snow/ice traction. But expect tread squirm on dry road. Nokian is the largest tire manufacturer in the Nordic countries. They know snow!!!

If your in need of a little more dry road stability, look into an all weather tire that has good grip on wet, snowy and dry roads.

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
pricey

Blizzak LM22
but they last and can be a life saver at speed.
tirerack has them

keep 225/45/17 on all four for the winter.225's do much better in the snow, than a staggered set up.

I have used Blizzaks in the past and they did OK in snow but I didn't like them on dry pavement.

So now I have four Nokian W2g2 winter tires and I find them superior to the Blizzaks. During our just finished two weeks of snow I was able go wherever I wanted, staying away from the steeper grades, of course. And on just wet or dry pavement they feel like normal summer tires.

I'm using 225/45-17s all around and bought them online from someplace perhaps in Illinois or someplace back there.

Series II. Don't know, at any tyre shop I guess. There should be national stock on these that will make for quick delivery.

Just curious, what are you going to do with the existing stock tires? Only my wife hit a pothole last week and ripped apart one of the tires and I dont want to pay $120 for a new one.

^ +1

I opted for the LM-25 and did the same size all around, 225/45 R17 so I can rotate them each winter. Night and day difference between them and the stock all seasons (Michelin) that came with the car. Still feels good/stable to drive hard on dry/wet pavement.
