Pictures of the new/slimer/less windnoise side mirror
I found this on another website, supposely all these are the new side mirrors found on the w204..
I wonder when will this new mirror start showing up in North America..
(BTW, why is it Canada's W204 get to have more features than US version...)
I drove my C300 today at about 75 MPH on highway w/ side mirrors folded and the car is quieter when compared to mirrors open..
I think with mirrors folded, it's almost as quest as the 06 C230 I used to drive..

Noise is not a problem to me with my large C Class mirrors . The legal speed limit is 110 km/hr. I like my big ears. They give better rear view therefore are safer.

Thats IMO. I dont see any other reason why US should get less options.

I was told that Japan only gets the rear view camera because they like gadgets so much
But now the camera seems to be released for additional markets, I have ordered the parts needed for a rear view camera retrofit

Your cars are cheaper to!
Base C350 Canada: 48,200
Base C350 US: about 38-39k (sorry I don't remember the exact price)
With exchange rate (using the american price), the Canadian one should be 47k.... alright, not that much difference xD, so I don't know why we get all this nice extra stuff :P
But I DO like those mirrors. They do fold, right?

The reason South African/ROW cars are way better speced than the US ones is that they cost a lot more – It’s got nothing to do with complaints. It’s well known that the OEMs consider the US market one of the least fussy – It’s a low price, short life – throw away market. That’s why your cars don’t maintain value the way they do in ROW. They start cheap & when they are 4 years old they are ultra cheap compared with ROW.
The new mirrors are available folding.

Looks like Mercedes want sold out old mirrors stock first, and introduced the new ones massive, with new CGI and Βlue Efficiency cars coming later this year.

I think they suck, from a design standpoint. Too avant garde; looks almost rice to me, because they differ from the whole of the design, basically patched on to it, rather than integrating with it.
But that's me.
But that's me.

That does make a difference but there are large differences in spec as well e.g. If you buy an Elegance or Avantgarde in SA they are full leather right down to the door panels & always have been. It shows up all over the place - my car has 4 brake wear indicators - most US cars have one in front only & the list goes on and on. The bean counters have been into the US models to keep the sticker price down. On the W204 the gap in spec is even larger than it was on the W203.

Last X'mas I went back to Taiwan to visit family and was shocked by how nice the interior was for my couson's 2007 Camry..
It makes the interior of my wife's 2007 Camry (V6 SE non the less) look pathetic by comparison...
Here are a few options I wish my 08 C300 would have and I think is pretty much standard equipment for ROW..
1. Memory Seat
2. Keyless Go
3. Paddle Shifter
4. Parking Sensor
5. Tilt Down Passenger Side Mirror
6. Advanced Agility Control

None of those options are standard equipment in Sweden nor in Germany.
Each country has its own entry level model, for instance its no problem to order a 204 in Germany without any radio at all, this is impossible here.
Also we have some standard options when choosing a package, such as Parametric steering in the AMG sports package.

Yes - all very nice features. Once you've had features like Parktronic, Distronic & even Linguatronic it's hard to imagine being without them. Even my W203 has Parktronic - The Linguatronic was an option.
Asian Camry's are almost as well speced as a full house Lexus. Lovely leather interior - wood etc. American ones are stripped out.

Remember in Germany you can order the Taxi spec models without frills, no radio, rubber mats, cloth seats, steel wheels without trims etc.
