OKOK GUYS!!! EXCITING NEWS ABOUT THE IPHONE CONTACT AND PCMCIA ISSUE UPDATE
ok, I just went to the dealership and my advisor helped me updated my command because I said there are some problems, here we go
1. I found a way, from that weird guy who post 100 of post with the exact same post. His way really does work, just you need to have a little modification to it.
1. convert your window contact into vcard, export if you use window, and choose Vcard
2. when you get your vcards contacts, instead of putting them into folders, delete everything on your memory card that you use with your PCMCIA card.
3. drag your vcards right into the memory card without any folders at all (NONE), all you want to see when you open your memory card is the vcards.
4. go to phone and import from external (or something like that, the middle choice anyways)
5. import ~ than you are done
PS. You are not going to be able to read Chinese (i am not sure about the other languages so I won't confirm on that) on your contact. And this is the Command system, I have just tried so I think it should be fine.
ok now the PCMCIA issue, after the dealer install the new command system, it actually works, (touchwood), in 24 hrs, unless i pull the card out when i get home nad plug it in again in the morning, it played just the way i want.
I hope this isn't an old finding if anyone need any help, feel free to msg me, i can add you guys on msn or something
cheers
Ron

I'll let you know when my car is finally off the boat. I have to take it into the dealership to let them load the US maps back on it, and I'll have them update my comand at the same time to see if it fixes the pcmcia issue. Do you know if the pcmcia issue made it onto the TB for the comand update or is it just coincidental?

Thanks for info.
My phonebook on the car is outdated so I will try the method above to update from PCMCIA(CF Card) using vcards.

I'm not sure the name of the boat. It left via Bremerhaven port and the boat should be stateside in less than two weeks. American Auto Logistics is the company I used for shipping.. I suppose I can call them and ask next week... I'm just happy it's almost here, I'm dying without it stuck driving a Prius!

This seems tedious. Why not just use an old motorola or blackberry phone with bluetooth capabilities? I'm sure everyone has one lying around from previous phone upgrading. That is what I did to overcome the bluetooth barriers set by Apple on the iPhone. It is an easy way to transfer phone contacts via bluetooth to my C300

This method does work and has been reported many times, I used it over a year ago. The only pain is you can only export one contact in outlook to Vcard at a time. If I remember well a work around is to e-mail several contacts to yourself and they will show up as Vcards.

I suggest a simpler solution, just find contacts and dial directly from the iphone, and talk with the BT handfree on the car. There is no hussle to "Sync" the address, since the iphone address book interface is much user friendly than the car systems. And there is no need to maintain 2 separate address book. (I found the voice control function of the car system clumsy to use either)

Hmm i've got the same problem as anyone else with an iphone and a w204.. but i just got an idea. Has someone tried to send a vcard file to the car through bluetooth from an macbook / pc laptop? My problem is that i don't have an old phone laying around, so if this would work it would be great!

OK well I took mine into the dealership to see about getting the Comand updated, and the dealership took it in but the service advisor said it already had all the most up to date software. Then performed like a recall maintenance for trunk spacer or something, and recharged my freon for my AC and checked it for leaks since it was a little low.. so I don't think they were just balking about the update. So what's the version number? Maybe they just don't have all the software?
