A check price for first year service. Australia.
Hi guys,
I couldn't find any info in regards to the A service price for Australia.
I called up the service department yesterday for A, first year service.
The car have not even done 6000kms but the display is already flashing A service due in 25 days.
Any way, they advised that it would cost around AU$650. (US$648)
Does this seem excessively expensive to any one in Australia who have done the first A service?
I believe it's just an engine oil change, oil filter change and various checks only.

Wow..
Is that from Mercedes Service shop or just a local mechanic?
I just called again to double check the price and they said 640 to 680.
This is a Melbourne Mercedes.

Joe,
I was quoted $400 4 years ago in NSW. I do not know whether it has gone up.I do know country is cheaper than city.
I would call a few dealers to see whether you can do better than $650. Thats a bit rich.
In the long run , if you are not DIY , I would suggest finding a reputable , interested & experienced independant MB mechanic & form a good working relationship with him.
If you do you will have to take more responsibility with your maintenance & know what has to be done & when , with the correct MB specified oils & filters. It is interesting to do this anyway.
Good luck.

Ah Joe, why not take a couple days break & have the car serviced in pleasant location. ie Warrnambool,Ballarat, Shep or Mildura? . The savings may pay for the hotel ?!!
