2009 C300 Wont start...battery fine...but no power to ignition
When I tried to start my car it acts just like the battery is dead. I checked the battery with a gauge and it seems to be perfect. The car will not go in gear either (tried to roll it). The remote works and everything lites up but still no response. When I got out and hit the remote to lock it up the windows and sunroof opened and now I cannot get them closed. I thought it might be something to do with the anti theft alarm system and it had the car disabled in some way....any ideas ?

your battery might be flat, since you cannot roll up the windows. There was some residual left, enough for you to unlock and open the windows... (just a thought)
did the starter crank or anything when you turn the key?

I moved this thread to the W204 forum.
Does it not attemp to crank? If no crank check the starter solenoid fuse in the front SAM. On a W203 it is fuse 52 - check on your fuse chart for W204. If Benz has a 15amp fuse in there & it's blown change it to 20 amp. Recent TSB came out on W203 to this effect. The cars have much in common & many interchangeable parts.

Not at all. I think in future we mods need to make this clear in the recipient forum. A "moved" notice is left behind in the donor forum.
I'm still settling into this moderator function.

I had the same problem a year ago. Battery and electronics all okay but engine would not start. Mine turn out to be an ignition kill module. It failed and killed my ignition. The repair took almost 1 month as each module is specifically programmed for each vehicle and had to come from Germany. You can unlock your transmission manually. There is directions in your manual but basically the plates around your gear shift simply pops up. Once removed you will see a yellow transmission manual unlock. It is either a simple press of it or a slide to one side. This will manually unlock your transmission so you can shift.

[Would your car try to start or would it not turn over when you turned the key?
