Any visual suggestions for Silver c300?

Hey guys!,

I am looking at giving my new c300 a little make over but am not sure where to start or what to even add on it. My car is silver so I think that makes it a bit harder to find things to go with it.

What I was thinking..

  • I was looking at some grille replacements online (all black) but am not sure it will look good with the silver paint job(I've only seen a few images online all black and white cars)? Does anyone have pics or has seen this done before?
  • Head-lights, tail-lights, and fog lights.. what can I do with them?
  • Window tinting, how dark should I go, what do you guys think would look best?
Suggestions are all welcome!!

- I don't like the black and silver look. Looks dirty in my opinion.
  • Head-lights, tail-lights, and fog lights.. what can I do with them?
- Add HID's, Upgrade Tail Lights to Replica 2012+ and leave fog lights.
  • Window tinting, how dark should I go, what do you guys think would look best?
- 35% All around

Congrats on your purchase. Actually silver is quite a versatile color.

Grill: All black grills (Gloss not matte) look quite nice although they need something to complement them like black rims, window tint or smoked tail lights.

Lights: Tinting the tail lights might be nice. Adding HIDs to the front looks quite nice.

Tint: Check with your local laws so the Police won't bother you. Here in Canada Police don't seem to care so I'd personally go with 20% all around except the windshield of course. Make sure the tint is ceramic and some really good brands are Llumar or 3M. I had SolarGard on my old Maxima and though it was a good tint it was died so it would have faded over time.

I prefer a 50% tint..looks great and classy, plus the cops wont bother you cause its not that dark....

silver is a good color...def look at some wheels...love the vossen look,,,also look at some CF parts, like a spoiler and grille...

my 2 cents

Actually you could do a 50% blue tint like on older MB's. Many like this look. Google it.

Here ya go. There is nothing wrong with the look now. I just wanted to do something nice to the car.. you know give it a little make over to keep up with the newer looks. I want to try to keep it professional looking. Also my tail lights kinda look blurry. I'd like to change them and the headlights for some with a nice clean LED look to them.

And thanks for all of the suggestions thus far guys. I'm lovin' them. You guys brought some new stuff to the table. Like replicating the tail lights of the newer models as dolvio mentioned.

The cops around here are complete douche bags, so tinting will probably have to be limited at 50% even though I would like 35% like recommended. My friend actually just ended up removing all his tint last week because of being pulled over on normal basis for it. Going out at night here is just a guarantee of getting pulled over.

I was going through some pics online and this one really caught my attention.

That grille looks freaking great(looks like a mix between the lux and sport grille), I would love to slap that sucker on my car but am having a difficult time finding one just like it.

This is the closest thing I found to it on eBay.http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHROME-FRAME-BLACK-MESH-FRONT-GRILLE-FIT-BENZ-W204-C-CLASS-C250-C300-C350-08-13-/171107520169?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27d6cd8ea9&vxp=mtr
Is that the same thing? Will it work?

Also any ideas on what kind of head-lights and fog lights those are? Are those stock? I'd love to base my car off the look of this one.

That is the "C63 style" grille. It's been a popular grille in the past. That eBay link looks to be the same grille. You might also like the "facelift C63 style" grille. It has one bar instead of two.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-W204-C300-C350-C230-C200-Grille-Grill-1-FIN-Chrome-Frame-NEW-Black-C63-/230748029689?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35b9a782f9&vxp=mtr
The headlights on that car are OEM bi-xenons, and the fog lights appear to just have yellow Lamin-x on them. You should look into an LED/HID conversion. Check out aznoptics.com

It sounds like you're after a more OEM look rather than a blacked out look. You should look into clear side markers. The DEPO brand ones are the best looking clear ones, in my opinion.

Here is my car (and how yours would look with an HID upgrade. 6000K)
On Page 2: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...adlight-2.html

Here are the upgraded Tail lights also. They do not look orange in person. The pic in my signature does not show my new Tailights on. But you can see the spoiler I added... That would be a nice, professional upgrade! I can help point you in the right direction for all of this stuff.

Your absolutely right! That's the look I want. A clean OEM look.. basically a makeover on 2008 C300 to make it look more 2013..

And I was wondering about those sider markers but didn't know what they were called so I shield away from posting. I am definantly putting this on my cart so thank you!

As for the 1 fin grille, that was my original choice until I found the pic of that grey c300 with the c63 style grille as you pointed out. They both look good but I the one with one fin seems to have too much black/empty space.

Also as I was looking at the side marker's eBay page I noticed the rim on one of the photos.

Anyone know what these are called or what I should search for? I found two SIMILAR ones on ebay, but the more I compare them the more differences I notice. (Or maybe the ones I found on eBay are nicer?)

Looks like you got two miniature suns inside your headlights xD Besides the brightness increase do they look any different from the OEM ones I have?

And as for your tail lights. I am really interested in those. They seem to be the same as these tail lights, am I right?

If so, then I would definitely appreciate a link to where ever you got yours from! The comments on that youtube video kinda indicate that the retailer for those is bad seller.

So... so far, things I am getting for sure are..
  • http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHROME-FRAME-BLACK-MESH-FRONT-GRILLE-FIT-BENZ-W204-C-CLASS-C250-C300-C350-08-13-/171107520169?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27d6cd8ea9&vxp=mtr
  • http://www.ebay.com/itm/USA-DEPO-08-11-Mercedes-W204-Clear-Bumper-Side-Marker-Light-Chrome-Amber-Bulb-/171101024918?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AC300&hash=item27d66a7296&vxp=mtr
  • Tint Job (this will probably be done last and at a shop)
And things that still need sorting out..
  • Tail-Lights
  • Rims
As soon as I get all the links together and double check they are compatible I start placing the orders! I am trying to stay under $1,000 maybe $1,200. Rims I think would be the most pricey thing on the menu here..

The HID upgrade is a huge improvement and not even comparable to what you have now. Absolutely needed.

Yes, those are the tail lights. VIP Motors has them. Let me know if you cannot find them.

The rims you are looking at on that car are OEM AMG rims and would cost you a ton. The ones you are finding online are replicas and not the real this.

As far as HID's (Headlights) contact Mike at Azn Optics. He's all over this site and you can google that name too.

Those wheels that you posted are the optional 18" AMG wheels. I haven't seen any replicas for that wheel.

Here's some 08-11 LED tails by DEPO
http://www.ebay.com/itm/USA-DEPO-08-11-MERCEDES-BENZ-W204-C-CLASS-4D-RED-CLEAR-RED-LED-TAIL-LIGHTS-LAMPS-/121113714368?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c32f09ec0&vxp=mtr
DEPO has this combo if you're interested in those tails and their clear side markers.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DEPO-08-11-MERCEDES-W204-C-CLASS-RED-CLEAR-LED-TAIL-LIGHT-SIDE-MARKER-LIGHTS-/121155039956?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c356732d4&vxp=mtr
NOTE: I searched "depo w204" to see all their products.

Another suggestion for the OEM look are these 2010+ style LED mirror covers.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-W204-side-Mirror-Cover-arrow-C300-C350-LED-WH-/270757468179?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f0a671813&vxp=mtr
I have these, and although there dim in direct sunlight, they look fine at night. Here's an example:
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ml#post4731950

The downside is that I couldn't find one already painted palladium silver.

Another round of ICE
At first, I thought you had Iridium, but I see it's Palladium, so here are some very close to home shots for you to review:

I have a couple of the same pieces as others here, but painted them bodycolor to make them appear as a harmonious part of the overall design. I don't care for the contrasting look, as it makes it obvious it's a hang on part. The grille started as a black matte plastic grille which was also painted, except for the inside of the barrel behind the star, to give the star more depth behind it. The tail lamp trim was a chrome part which was sanded and painted. The spokes on the 810 style wheels from PowerWheels Pro match the Palladium body too.

It is the FormulaOne Pinnacle Ceramic tint 30%. The headlights were Lamin-x Gunsmoke film.

How much light does it kill with the film on the headlights? It looks really nice.

Honestly- I'm a Safety vs Style person. The headlight tint really did not reduce the light output that much. That sounds strange, but it is more noticeable with the lights off. When On- they still performed great. Same went for the tailights, but the film would not stick to the recessed areas on the lenses. I'm really considering doing it again on my Coupe. If you like the look but are still concerned- I used the "Tint" color and it was lighter but still looked great.
