2014 C250 SPORT WHINING NOISE

The 271 is a good engine, when it works. The cam adjusters are pretty much the only real issue we see with them, and that's usually under warranty time or not at all.
It appears that the alternator is shared between many models, so this is a noise that appears on many different MB cars.

Not to be critical, but your comments may be blowing in the wind.
The OP says she’s a girl, doesn’t know much about cars, and hasn’t been back in almost 8 years.
I have a 15 year old w212 CGI E200 with a M274 engine, the engine developed whining sound, and intermittent rattling noise when decelerating , usually from high speed decelerate to about 40km/h, the rattle will appear for a 1 or 2 second. The rattling sounded like marbles hitting within the engine block, or a frequency of an airramp.
I tried fixing it many times but to mo avail, from replacing tensional, drive chain propeller shaft bearing, engine mounts etc, nothing fix the problem. I even overhauled the engine, replacing cam lifters etc etc, but to no avail. The problem has caused engine fault message, damage a cam gear etc. One fine day a mechanic told me he was very sure the problem was caused by a bad balance shaft. Thanks goodness, true enough, the problem was resolved by replacing the balance shaft .
Word of caution, a new balance shaft can set one back by U$4k , but to me, more importantly, it solves the problem.
