C220 W204 Right Hand Side cold, LHS warm
Heres an interesting one. My lovely (UK: Right hand drive estate) 2011 C220 W204 has decided to chill the driver whilst keeping the passenger cosy warm. It's not the Air con. No error messages on dash or through the sniffer.
The chill feels like external air. I'm thinking blend flaps but here's the puzzle: the rear passenger compartment vents (the ones at the back of the armrest) ALSO have warm air out of the left vent and cold air out of the right vent. (a puzzle because I thought the rear passenger compartment was not able to have left and right temparature adjustment.)
If I press the recirculator button the drivers side windscreen foggs up quickly.
Air con clears the screen and does its usual thing on both sides.
Of course no amount of turning up the heat (on either side) has any effect on the drivers side. Seat heater works fine though Thank God!
(Other things I think are irrelevant but perhaps should be taken into account: Comand screen is blank, functions (except sat nav of course) work fine. I had a leak of a litre of w/washer fluid in the rhs passenger footwell GRR. The car has done 165Kmiles)

Update. Now I have a fault code on the Right Blend Flap Actuator. Good, we are getting somewhere.
interestingly there is no access to the actuator or any of its sensors. So I'm thinking electrical fault, perhaps a bad ground.

Yes it seems clear that its rodent damage now.
W204 Right hand drive. behind the dash. Air box.
The copper wire to the COMAND screen was gnawed and he connector highlighted here is damaged too.
Can anyone tell me what this connector (the little one pointed to by the arrow) is for?
It seems to be a 3 wire (only) connector pretty hard to get to with normal sized hands!

What is the exact issue? Air coming out cool when the heat is on, air coming out hot when the ac is on?
Any fault codes showing?

Hello,
On the driver side LHD the air is very cold, as it should be, when the AC is ON. But on the right side, the air has the outside temperature. When I switch to hot air, both are the same.
There are no faults detected, all flaps, actuators and temp sensors are in parameters.

Try what they recommend in this thread, im guessing turn it to full cold then full hot repeatedly a few times. https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...nger-side.html

Thank you, I already tried hot/cold few times. Doesn't seem to work. I wonder if the problem is somewhere else, like the freon filter or the dryier could be clogged. STAR 3.4 shows that everything is ok, but the freon pressure is showing values between 13-20 bars every few seconds.

So, I found where the issue was, just in case someone else will have the same problem as me. The filter from inside the AC condenser was clogged. Once I replace it, everything turn to be ok. Freezing inside the car.
BTW: The mechanics will try to fool you saying that you cannot replace just the filter, that you have to replace the whole condenser unit. It`s not true. You can. All you need is 14mm inbus socket.
Good luck!
