Will W218/W212 (CLS550/E550) Calipers fit on a W204?

Does anybody know if the calipers from a W218/W212 (CLS550 or E550) Brembo Calipers will fit on the W204?

I would like to know this as well. I couldn't find any info, so I bought new original calipers and had them Cerakoated.

I'm surprised how little info we find here for mods. The W211 and W212 forums are to the brim with mod info and DIYs. I thought it would be the same if not more for the W204s.
Not much mod interest on our cars?

Yeah, this forum is heavily leaning on new people coming in asking for help troubleshooting random noises or issues w/ their w204, not really focused on modding it. I'll keep doing my research and if I can find the answer, I'll post it here.

So, here's some information that I found after a lot of research:
  • The mounting distance between the 2 mounting holes for the stock W204 calipers is roughly 4 5/16" (4.3125") or rather 109.5375mm. So the calipers we're trying to swap with needs to have the same distance between the mounting holes. Otherwise we'll need a custom bracket.
  • The stock w204 rotors is roughly 11.275" or 288.925mm. So when you upgrade the calipers, you have to be mindful of the larger diameter rotors and calipers size because it could rub up on your wheels.
  • The E-Class (W212) models share the same design as the W204, so I think they are interchangeable.
    • The normal E-Class W212 calipers are the same ones as the C350 calipers. I am almost 100% sure they are interchangeable and is plug & play.
    • In 2010, there was a bigger Brembo caliper options on the W212 (which are the brakes I posted up above) - I need help figuring out if these will be a direct plug and play option
  • The only confirmed plug & play option that I've found on this forum is by user "Cocoout":
    • The 2012 E500 (C207) calipers are plug & play. It runs 360mm rotors front and 300mm rears.

So, I am taking one for the team and purchase the calipers off ebay. One thing to note that's important is that if your car is AWD (4matic), the calipers will be different. So don't buy the wrong calipers if you're RWD. Anyways, I think it will fit, I just need to make sure it clear my wheels, but taking the gamble anyways.

What really helped me solidify this decision is that someone in Europe already confirmed this:

So I had the opportunity to try this and I didn't so my bad.

Just upgraded the rotors on my CLS400:

Wanted to try them on w204 but didn't. Glad I don't have them though - you wouldn't be able to fit the spare on the wheel.
For me that's more important at the moment LOL

Some info you already might know in this thread:

Long story short - CONFIRM ROTOR OFFSET!

Dude, I totally watched your video, haha. I really wished you test fitted it so I didn't have to be the guinea pig, but I think it'll be fine. I am just worried about it clearing my wheels, but I do have 18" wheels. I have CLS550 calipers, so I will definitely take note and purchase the rotors for the CLS550 and not the E550 ones. Appreciate that bit of information for sure!

I think you should be able to just barely clear them but also it might depend on your wheel offset.
If you have time I would maybe do a test fit to check.

Also I don't think the offset has to do with rotor pairing, since the e550/cls550 rotors are the same (of couse exception 4matic vs rwd) but rather the distance of the rotor from the hub.

If possible I would check to see if you can find W204 rotor offset and see which one is closer, CLS or E class, because it could be either

Hey so I just checked the brembo website: https://www.bremboparts.com/europe/e...81/000031503-1

I don't know if our cars are 204.080 or 204.081 but in the diagram shows 64.5 offset for the car. This would match the offset for the E class as per the post in my other thread:

13/'14 E550, 360mm 64.5mm offset rotor.

'13 CLS550, 360mm, 51.4mm offset rotor.

So if you have a CLS, you must get the CLS550 brake rotors, and vice versa for E class. Otherwise, you won't be able to fit the caliper due to the offset.

You can also use the part number to buy the rotor.
If that is the case, then it could be good news, as the rotor should sit perfectly the same, just larger on the hub. Not sure if you'll need adapter brackets to attach the caliper though to clear the extra distance.

Good info guys - thanks. I have a 4Matic Sport, which really narrows my options. In researching Brembo calipers and consequently which OEM replacement calipers I needed, I took note that there are 3 or 4 different caliper options for the W204. IIRC, it mainly has to do with comfort vs sport vs. 4Matic comfort vs 4Matic sport but there was a list of option code exclusions for each, and a distinction between aluminum or (I presume) cast iron. I believe the 4Matic Sport uses a smaller caliper than the others.

Because of all of this, I opted to stick with stock brakes and enjoy other benefits of the 4Matic.

Don't forget to show us your finished project!

Sport are larger than comfort, and 4matic vs rwd has to do with brake line placement, so you've got the largest ones for w204. For me, they were actually above adequate, especially once I upgraded with ceramics, hence why I wasn't in a rush to change them.
I have 19s so I know I'd clear them but as mentioned, if I ever get a flat, the spare is useless cause it won't fit.

I think you can still do it with 4matic calipers, which I see quite a few on ebay right now. I will definitely share my results and maybe do a youtube video of the process even.

Some updates for y'all. Yes, the W212/W218 Brembo Calipers will indeed fit on the W204. It's a direct bolt on, no brackets needed. I am still trying to determine which rotor is needed, but I think the E550 rotors will work considering it has the same offset as the stock W204 rotors.

New update, the rotors you will need to work with these calipers are the 360 x 36mm Rotors off the C63. I bought the Brembo rotors off rockauto (it was cheaper than the Zimmerman from FCP Euro). Also, make sure you don't make my mistake and ordered brake pads for the C63 (I am so dumb), you need brake pads for the CLS550/E550 calipers. The C63 brake pads don't fit at all.

I think they all share the same part number for the non 2-piece rotors in the 360mm size. But I just say C63 because for the E class, there were a number of different rotors in varying sizes because they had a bunch of various brake options. So it can be confusing for some people.

Very nice! I’ve seen your Youtube video as well, very informative.

Is there a similar option for the rear?

Thanks! Yeah, just use the AMG C63 Calipers from the W204 chassis. It's a direct bolt on for the rears, no adapters needed.
