Mercedes Benz C-class W205 Problems Malfunction What Is Your Experience ?
The remote open function is also much slower when you have the powred trunk, it does not do the quick pop up when you remote open, instead its a steady controlled open movement.

It appears to be a software issue that MB claims they'll have resolved with an update in December. The advice they've given to others is to shut down the car for 5 minutes, and then restart it. That's supposed to clear the fault.

Two small issues only ... first one with the transmission when the car is cold and you first drive off. It seems to hesitate when changing from 2nd to 3rd, and only once, then it's fine for the rest of the day, until it's been parked overnight and the next day it does it again, without fail. Have tried driving in all Agility modes - Comfort, Sport & Sport + but it's all the same.
Plus the reverse camera stopped working one day, while it was at the dealer getting a new windscreen (see https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ml#post6242405) but that was also only once and it's fine now but the dealer is still replacing it under warranty. Been waiting for about 3 weeks now for the parts to arrive from Germany.
3 months & over 4,000km. That engine just keeps getting better and better. It's got quite alot of grunt for a 2.0 litre, 4 cylinder motor. Gives my 4.7 litre V8 a very good run!
Overall, very impressed with the W205. Huge improvement on the 2 W204s we've had in the family, which were great cars too!
Our car is one of the first batches that came to Australia, before they had East London South Africa set up properly we were told, so it's German built (they gave us the certificate with the barcode that hangs in the window during transit that says "Made In Germany"). Don't know if it makes any difference to quality, might get a chance to compare when we get a service loaner down the track, but it will certainly make it more attractive at resale time as the general perception is German built is best.
Happy C-Classing fellow owners!

The US built cars do use a lot of locally sourced parts, but I have no idea what those are. The only build quality issue I had was a poorly fit fuel filler door, and this had to be replaced by the dealer. It was an obvious flaw, and one that should have easily been caught and fixed before it left the Alabama factory. It wasn't.
So far. it looks like the vast majority of complaints concern the electronics and the menu structures. Many seem to be software related so, hopefully, this will be addressed soon by the factory.
In my own experience, the issues have been more annoying than serious. A minor alignment issue, the fuel door, the steering column recall/inspection, and the replacement of my front Continental tires under their recall. Just more trips to the dealer than I wanted or expected.
I haven't had anything happen yet that has made the car undrivable. If that happens, it would be tough to not be really, really upset. Regardless, it seems unlikely at this point that the first year W205 will get high points for reliability.

I've tested it backing up to within an inch of my garage door and not even as much as chirp or a light. This goes for the front as well. Haven't tried the Park Assist. Thought it could (or hoped) be a setting but haven't found one

You might have accidently turned it off.

200mi in on a C400 W205. Overall, extremely happy with the car (other than squeaky wipers!).
