W205 Discount challenge!

Since my last post I was able to have my 3 local dealerships essentially compete for my build order and when it was all said and done I was able to get a 7% discount off MSRP from my closest dealership. Yay! But now I'm waiting for a couple months with temptations from the new 450's that are arriving.

So didnt end up getting the one I posted earlier, but this instead. How'd I do?

$47,505 MSRP, negotiated down to $38,763 with applicable discounts + tax, tag, junk.

Just looking to order a c200 amg premium pack in hayacinth dont have to argue about discounts as my partners work have a pretty good deal already list price is £35140 and we can get it for £29338.50 so a saving off £5801.51 or 16.5%. Not too shabby.

Some encouraging discounts here! I'm thinking about leasing a new C when my wife's is up later next year. She's currently at $450/mo in her lease and I'd like to stay at/around that number. Wondering how many options I'll be able to squeeze in there, if any...

For what it's worth, my lease:
MSRP $46,010
Final: $40,210
Downpayment: $1k for startups & 1st month
Monthly (36/10): $452 incl. tax & PPM
They fully refunded the PPM on my old car, so that took care of the downpayment.
Options:
Polar white
Beige MB Tex
Base 4Matic
Linden trim
Premium
Parktronic
Keyless-Go
Blind spot assist
Wheel locks
Here's probably the best discount I was offered, but it had too many "don't need" features and missed important one that my partner wanted:
MSRP: $50,470
Final: $43,799
Upfront: $1,000
Monthly (36/10): $494.41 incl. tax
This was their initial offer, so I'm sure that could have come down further.

We were also asked not to reveal the discount price on my wife's 2016 C300. I think we got a similar deal as yours, but our car was off the lot, so your deal is that much more impressive!

I too got a great discount on my new build 2016 C300. It was north of 13%, plus they tinted my windows with nano-film and MB All Season Floor Mats, included at no extra charge. In addition, since I was turning in my leased 2012 E350 Coupe, early, Mercedes paid off the 3 remaining lease payments in a program they call Lease Ahead.

These 13% and 14% numbers are pretty incredible for a 2016. considering that EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT pricing at a dealership is only 12.5%. for a factory order it is higher, but still. It's pretty epic.

We were disappointed that they were not willing to do much additional discounts on 2015s. I think on similar builds, we got $1k-$1.5k more off for a 2015. I know I've seen some 18-20% deals on 2015s posted here, but I was not able to get that locally. On resale, a 1 year newer model year would result in at least 2k-3k in valuation difference, so a 1-1.5k discount for a 2015 did not make sense for us.

Knowledge is power. I was fully aware when walking into the dealership what people were getting and what would get the deal done. Fortunately in so cal if one dealer doesn't want to play ball you walk out and go to the next. I made that known and they took it serious to say the least. ![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)

Indeed, knowledge IS power, but there are some market and vendor absolutes the generally come into play..
for example, when 2015's are still available in this example, dealers are told not to heavily discount 2016's till they are out of inventory on the 15's.. and that usually applies to a market/region.
There are usually discount floors that don't get broken or rarely.. an employee discount threshold is usually one of them. We all know what "dealer invoice" really means, but there isn't usually a lot of additional meat on the bone after a couple % points. Unless there are either market, manufacturer or dealer primary incentives..have to hit numbers, have to move product, have to keep factory humming, have to compete with direct competitors discounts (like a BMW, AUDI, LEXUS) in the market, etc.
Still, those are SOLID SOLID numbers to hit regardless.
