The dealership was CERTAIN that the C450 that I ordered will be manufactured and arriving from Germany - which was a big selling point for me.

I was quite surprised to hear that bc I thought in more recent years, that any C Classes delivered anywhere in North America, was manufactured at their US plant in Alabama... and the few people I talked to about this were also sure that all C Classes as far as they were concerned, were made in North America that would be delivered to either Canada or US...

But again, the dealership was 1000% sure that it would be arriving from Germany... not that I have any reason not to believe the dealership, as they were THAT certain, but can anyone else here (from either Canada or the US) that has a 2016 C class, confirm one way or another if theirs had been made in Germany?

Many thanks!
Your dealership is wrong, they are either deliberately misleading you, or they don't have a clue what they are speaking about. my guess is the latter. My C450 was delivered over a month ago, made in the USA. That's why European delivery is not available on any C class model, including the C63

Mercedes would be very surprised to find out that your car was being made in Germany. Your salesguy's 1000% is simply wrong. Your C450 as all C300 and C450 sold in the US and Canada are built in Alabama. Sadly, MB sales people are often misinformed. I don't know why it would be a sales incentive to you to have your car built in Germany to begin with. The factory in Alabama is state-of-the-art and there's no disadvantage to have a car built in the US. No, none at all.

Nice. Is is genuine carbon fiber?
I negotiated with my dealer a 500€ dis count on the OEM carbon rear spoiler so I will go with it. It is a bit smaller than the one you show in Facebook.

My brother is going to purchase a BMW 340i xdrive. I have a c450. He thinks the 340 will have a better 0-60 and 1/4 mile..he also claims that when BMW releases the PPK tune and exhaust it's going to dominate the c450..any thoughts on this ???

Yea he could be right. Lighter car with an underrated, stout power terrain. Furthermore, the BMW community is far more advanced in terms of mods than the Merc people.

I am sure he is correct. That straight 6 in the 340 is already faster than the C450. All the Germans underrate their engines, but BMW is the worst offender. I think the stock 340 is pushing closer to 350 hp at the crank, and with BMW's M performance power kit, it will be insane. I switch to the C450 from my 335i, not because of any power advantage, I just prefer the C450 as a complete package. Having said that though, none of these cars are lacking power, and any difference in everyday driving will be minimal.

What's this recent dashboard badge specification? Is it new?

Mine doesn't have it.

I disagree. I advise you to try both to judge. I test drove the 340i, the XES, Macan s and the 450. The Bmw was the last in the ranking both in terms of road feeling and perfs. The sound is really average and the steering feel is lacking feedback. The interior is also the worse of all but I think you only look at perfs in your discussion.
The only reason I would go for the Bmw would be the price.
I'm now waiting for the X4 M which would be by next test drive (good alternative to my favorite car the Macan GTS).

Anyone knows if we can modify some electronic settings like we do on audis with the VAG COM?
I'm interested in stopping the seat belt alarm and allow the video in motion.
I rented the Mercedes V class last week end. The car doesn't even move if your don't put the seat belt !!!

Thanks for the review. For myself, I have no plans on swapping out the OEM spoiler.
Just my opinion so take it FWIW. I'm not a fan of the style but more importantly for $300 I would expect an accurate fit, arrive ready for installation, adhesive tape included, and not contain waves of distortion.
Nevertheless, for those that are considering replacing the OEM with this spoiler or not, we are indebted to you for making the purchase and taking the time for the review. Thanks again.

I think you misunderstood. We all agree the BMW have the worst interior, it's not even close, and I was not commenting on things like road feel, steering feel, sound, etc, his question was simply about straight line speed, and I don't think anyone will deny that BMW's underrated and smooth straight 6 is a gem of an engine. We should not be surprised if the 340xi is faster in a straight line than the C450, (BMW quote 4.6 sec to 60 mph) and I fully expect the 340xi with the M power kit will be definitely faster. Having said that, we all agree that the C450 is by far the better all round car, and that is why most of us have one in our garage.

Just dawn on me that the C450 rear disc brake is not perforated like the front. Anyone know the reasons for that ?

Yes probably it is is true. Moreover my test was not the 340 but the 435i my mistake.
Coming from the A5 I was initially looking to the same segment before "falling in love" with 450.

I'm surprised it's only .2 seconds faster to 60 and in the 1/4 mile with the same stopping distance as the C400 according to Car and Driver. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...ic-test-review
