I think it's due to Mercedes just named the new SLC with this engine as SLC43 instead of SLC450 (formerly SLK).
So I guess that's why there is a rumour of C450 adopting the same numbering as C43.
I know Mercs resell sucks anyway but it's gonna be tougher to gauge with all these once-and-done model years (C400 and potentially C450) of the same cars.
Now I think C43 has way more history than C450 in name. But we already have C63 as top of range, so have C43 and C63 is diluting the AMG brand even more. I think the AMG section of the forum is already losing there mind about AMG Sport branding, and totally hated on SLC43. This will make it even worse for AMG fanboys.

Now I know it's been a while since the numbers represented the engine displacement but having the 45 AMG be a 4 cylinder and a 43 AMG be a 6 cylinder is silly.

Thanks; sounds great. I've been toying with the idea of ordering the Meisterschaft, but I can't find a single sound clip and the manufacturer can't / won't even provide one. After hearing yours, I think I'll just do a muffler delete and wait for there to be more full exhaust options.

BMW 330i E92 (currently) C450 AMG (very soon)
Thanks Bourne and Jonathan for your answers regarding the suspension. I am sure I will find a good compromise between dynamics and comfort. Anyway, my previous cars were pretty stiff as well and I never complained, I was just expecting significant differences between the suspension modes
Regarding C43, I think this is indeed confusing, there are now (like with Audi and BMW) 3 categories (MB "standard", AMG Sport, AMG), the name should clearly indicate in which category the car is !
At this stage, this is still rumour, let's wait official announcement

Havent really looked into those. for some reason, that just doesn't sound like a good idea to me.
I had a Gtechniq coating applied right after i bought the car. he did a new car delivery treatment where he polished the car, and then applied this coating system. 7 year warranty.
the car looks like a duck in water. just sheds right off the car. the other day it was raining pretty good, and it stopped when i got to the office. cars next to me were all wet, and mine was water free.

Having had a C43 in the past (buddy of mine and I shared it), I don't see them resurfacing that badge for this model. I think they like the CXYZ AMG badging and product differentiation - it's a new segment and all. We'll see, last time I saw my C43 it was upside down 15 feet in the air in a tree where it was parked for the last time. Replaced the next day with another. ;-)
Finally, MY C450 is here and it's being put through the paces - up to 4,000 paces mind you!
One thing I DO think about this model is that it will go UP in $$ in the next iterations and our first model years version will maintain their value well. (especially if you got 13% off retail ;-0 )

Is it true that this car will be called the C43 beginning with MY 2017?

Saw this first in the comments of the review posted a few pages back, and there is an AMG press release that apparently says it too (another commenter said they read it and "unfortunately it looks to be true", although I didn't see it in the translated version).
Anyone else heard this?

I have held off posting about an issue with my C450 accelerator peddle. I wanted to see if it was just a one-off but the following has now happened about 4 or 5 times.
In cold weather and just after the car is started, within 1 or 2 minutes at most, if you drive then, at the first stop (or almost stop, say 5mph or undeR), then upon attempting to accelerate away the peddle goes numb, does nothing.
This happened to me first about a month ago. I was coming down a slight hill out of my company's parking lot, maybe a 20 degree slope down, and came to a halt after getting up to maybe 30 mph. I slowed down to maybe 3 or 4 mph to turn right, the accelerator peddle did nothing. I had to hit it again and it sprang back to life.
This has now happened a half dozen or so times, always when it's very cold, always when the car makes its first stop after starting a minute or two prior. At least far as I can tell.
Has anyone else noticed this?

This car carries many different names in different markets.. Some have the 4MATIC nomenclature, some don't. same car. I THINK some markets even label the car with a "DTM" badge, certainly not here in the USA..

Hey Waylon,
Can you provide some more details on the muffler delete? Did you simply remove them and run a straight pipe? If so, do you experience any drone?
I want my C450 to be louder but I can't yet justify $3,300 for a Meistershaft exhaust.

MBWorld Fanatic!
My boss sent out an email this morning, criticizing some members "Grammer!" I had all too much fun pointing out his "faux pas!"

I'm sure more and more people will start to experience it, especially if you drive a lot in urban environments due to the high frequency of decelerations followed by swift acceleration. Please note that this lag only occurs if you attempt to accelerate while your car is decelerating and this issue never occurs from a stop.

With that said, i am now definitely set on leasing vs. financing. For what its worth, the Canadian residual for this month dropped to 61% from 63% if anyone is still shopping around.

The instagramer that I took the picture from is quite legit...and it only makes sense since the new SLC is being named under the 43 moniker. However...if its just badge-ing then its not a big deal (easy to change).

If i were you, I will definitely wait until late summer where the MY17 models get announced. If there are big changes without a significant price increase then definitely go for the newer model and by then you might be able to get a nice discount on the 450 if you deem the updates to be non-worthy or too expensive.
