I got quoted 975 for a partial front (curved) wrap which include ~20inches of the hood, fenders, full front bumper, mirrors, and headlights. Also having tints installed but not sure which ones I should go with. Any suggestions on the tints to use? Also, I'm planning on getting 20s in the rear windshield and 30-35s on the sides.
If you get tint, don't settle for the cheap tint. Get the ceramic tint. Makes a huge difference. I did 35% all around and 70% on the windshield. IMO I would stay away from going different percentages on the windows. Does not look as clean. If you want them to all look darker, you can always do the front and rears in 35% and the back windshield very dark and it will make all the other windows look darker. I did 35% all around and wish that I had done the back shield darker but like the uniformity on the side windows.

As for tints, I'm going 30% rear, side, sunroof...and then I may put 70% on the windshield.
The only way that getting 70% on the front windshield makes sense is if it is with ceramic tint. With normal film, it is just a waste of money. I have 70% ceramic on my windshield and it helps a ton with the heat and UV but you honestly cannot even tell it is there.

I'm getting Llumar Formula One Pinnacle ceramic, so it will make perfect sense.

Front windshield tint is illegal in Ohio, so I don't want to go any darker because I don't want to have to **** with the cops pulling me over when they get on a power trip.

USA Built C450

Hey Guys,

bought a 2016 c450 and just noticed it was built in the USA by Diamler.

Are all c450s in north america built in the states? Is there any difference between a German and US built C450?

Yup. Looking at getting the ceramic tints. I wanted the sides to have the same transparency but lighter than the rear which will most likely be at least 30% if not 20%

Yes, all W205 C-Class Sedans for North America are made in Alabama. They have some different options and different engine choices in other parts of the world, but it is the same car. Over in Europe, I believe the German plant only builds certain configurations and a number of cars for Europe and other parts of the world are built in South Africa as well.

.........and let us pray to whatever God we pray to, that they NEVER get built in Detroit, or anywhere in Michigan, or the midwest, for that matter.

Right-to-work states only, aka, as far away from the crappy-*** workmanship of the United Auto Workers union worker. Poor leadership & management, with poor training & supervision is what you get above the U.S. Mason-Dixon line. In fact, ever wonder why MB is in Alabama, Nissan-Infiniti in Tennessee, BMW in S. Carolina? And why Toyota moved its HQ from Cali to Texas? I rest my case.

Question is: Are Chrysler UAW workers up north still boozin' & puffin' it up in the park on their lunch breaks anymore? (Oh my, do I hear their defenders coming for me?? That 44-year old retired UAW dude living the high life in Lansing off a sweet taxpayer-ripped off pension??? Oooh!! Scaaaared!!!)

Frickin banditos.

Yeah exactly what I said, good choice on the ceramic. If you get 70% cops will never be able to tell, you can not see it whatsoever. Happy to send a pic if you would like to see what it looks like on the vehicle

Yeah, I would recommend 35 on the front and rear and 20% and the back windshield. If I could do it all over again, that is what I would have done. Post some pics when you get it done please. May make me redo my back windshield

Unfortunately my tints will have to wait for installation at a later date. I am only getting the Xpel installed today. I saw that he had Winco ceramic tints in stock and those will most likely be the choice I will end up going with.

I wish I had installed the xpel earlier, at 4000 miles I did have a handful of rock chips on the front end and a debris scratch on my driver side headlight about half an inch wide. Still...this will prevent any further damage..the amount of trucks on the road nowadays is mind boggling

Assuming I decide to finance the C43 rather than lease it, I am thinking that I will schedule my Xpel and tint 1-2 weeks after delivery. I'll give myself one/two weeks to drive around all giddy and excited that the new ride is here...then I will be responsible and give it up for a day or two over a weekend to get it all set up. As you said, the earlier you get the Xpel on the better...

Yup the earlier the better. I just crossed 4000 miles on mine and had about 9 months with the car already and I just got it covered in xpel. However it was fully garage kept everyday until last week when they forced me out to resurface and repaint my garage floor.

Here is a pic of it getting the expel installed. These guys just finished a 2016 X5M and have a Model X and a GSF waiting to be done along with a 550xi that came in after me

Just got in touch with the best local authorized Xpel Ultimate dealer, for the Coupe he said $725 for half and $1250 for the full hood and fenders. Does this seem fair to those who have had this installed/quoted?

I got some vinyl done. The nighttime shots make it hard to tell, but I did the lower rocker extensions in gloss black. More pics soon.

I need rear flics! Please someone find me some OEM rear flics! The Hong Kong models just got cheaper and I'm feeling weak. They're so cheap that it's almost worth buying them as a temporary fix.
I am a little worried that once I get flics, I'm going to end up blacking out the trunk spoiler, chrome trunk stripe, and door handles. You know... the whole once you go black thing?

LMAO......Yea.....lots poor workers building the cars at the Alabama plant also. They are just as bad as anywhere and anyone else in the USA regardless of where they are at. I have worked on many levels of management in the manufacturing segment...and tired of the "Me no understand" or "no comprehend-re" when they screw up; but when you screw up on their paycheck, they suddenly can speak great English!!! I bought a C450 that several problems due to assembly line errors...molding not installed correctly, a body panel with poor fit, and an extra inspection shield from the underside for the power steering floating around on the bottom engine pan cover that eventually got wrapped up in a belt in the engine, causing problems and a suspension/steering problem; so in total for my first 62 days of ownership, my car was in the shop for 44 days and in my possession for 18 days. I got to liking the C300 loaner better than my C450.

Just remember it is management's fault also that things got out of hand. It takes both parties to agree to the union contracts!! Right?? Both sides were getting plenty fat before the Japanese shook things up...and the American consumer accepting bad products. I can remember Roger Smith, past GM CEO saying if we build it...America will buy it because we are "GM". And I am upper management and a small business owner if you wonder!!

That seems very cheap. Check their portfolio of cars done and decide if they're a good match for price and quality. I was quoted 850 for partial front end (half) and 1450 for full. I went for the half and also added headlight clear bra for $100. The side mirrors come with the package. All in all I paid $940 (he gave me a $20 back cuz he had no change) but leeberbs does quality work, he has a shop in hillsborough nj and another down in florida.

He had some expensive cars being wrapped while i was there and there is an after photo of it applied to my car. Couldnt tell if it is there at all even with a partial cover

I have one question for Cajun, how does the exhaust sound? Mean? Throaty? Loud?

Springs, tint, wheel spacers, lips...it's **** all to me...I'm all about the go, less about the show....
