Has anyone done an extended warranty on the C450? What terms were you able to get? I'm wondering if the opportunity, similar to the "extended warranty thread" apply to C450 as well? It's not really an AMG fully so would it fall under the C Class extended warranty coverages?

I bought one from the dealer and got 25 per cent off as I recall. It IS negotiable, and, in my opinion, necessary.

what are the terms of the extended warranty? and what is the ball park on cost?

i typically dont keep cars past the initial warranty, but this might be a special one. but in a few years im sure the bug will come back, and ill be building cars online every night again.

Well, if you buy the mb warranty, as I recall, the same except the period is enlarged. Cost is negotiable.

I finally got my C450. First day but couldn't drive a lot just few miles back from dealership and then shopping. Great feeling, I thought iridium will be discrete but I had many heads turning on the street.
A bit surprised by the harshness of the suspension... Even in C mode it is stiff but fine as far as the road is good.
Could not drive in fun mode as I had to stay below 4000 tr/mn sorry I dontn know the U.S. measure of this.

A question though : I could subscribe to the remote control via iPhone but cannot find an app I could only access via web in the phone not App Store.
Another stupid question : how to stop the navigation?? I didn't try everything cause no time but nothing intuitive I think ...

Btw I could get album picture on MP3 once I connected my music by BT.

Certainly a noticeable difference in the suspension than we were used to with the Audi. not very forgiving going over speed bumps for sure.

Not sure what your question is on the nav. do you have a destination plugged in?

i have the mbrace iphone app. havent really used it much at all. when you remote start, it takes 30 sec or so for it to do it, so not really that useful.

hit the i button next to the rearview mirror and it will call mbrace for you. they can tell you if there is a euro app or not for the iphone i would imagine.

Using the nav. say "enter destination." It will then ask you for the address, like 500 Rue Happiness, Paris....

I use media monkey to download the cover art and it saves it right in the media file. Comand displays the art in my mp3 and wma files.

Suspensions in my A5 were rigid too but I didn't expect an MB to be as tough. For sure this is due to the AMG adjustment of the thing.
I drove a GLC yesterday and I felt like flying compared to the C450...

I have the remote online function called "Mercedes me" and I could create the account but I have to go through the web browser and it seems there is not dedicated app for it. I'll ask Mercedes anyway but i find it strange.

As for the nav I have no issue to start it but I didn't find the button to stop navigation once started. I could stop it by voice command however.

Apologies as this is my first day and I didn't spend more than 1 h in the car ....

@right Jonathan it is really happiness. Even my 7 y old daughter was very happy to find red seatbelts and ambiance lights with 3 colors...

Wrt to remote online I looked further : there is no dedicated app on the French App Store but it exists on the German App Store and I can't get it.
The workaround was to create a link to the web page on the iPhone / iPad and now it looks like an app but it opens a web page whic is really nicely built (as if it was an app). I could add weather spots and destinations which should be uploaded to the car. Will test tomorrow ...

I think you are selling the general population way short. Many "non car" people know that AMG or M is the sportier version of some very nice cars. I remember growing up and seeing AMG on the back of a Mercedes and knew it was something special. Even today when non car people see the AMG on the side of my wifes C450 AMG they know it is not your basic Mercedes.

Your comparison of a BMW 320I with M3 badging is not a valid one. autopal did not put C63 badging on his car. Now I do agree that when someone removes a stock badging and replaces it with AMG it will have a lot of your non car nuts scratching their heads a little knowing something may not be adding up.

I have seen pictures of a few C450 AMG that left the stock C450 badge on the left trunk lid and simply added the letters AMG behind that. It looked really nice and should not offend anyone. Because after all that is exactly how the title reads on the window sticker, title and every article you read about it. Then add to the fact that this very engine will be in the SLC AMG next year.

Muffler has been deleted. I must say it's quite different than the muffler delete threads with C300 and C400. See for yourself






Video: I'm not sure if you can hear too much of a difference in the video but it's definitely louder than before


Now there is a problem with drone. At 1500-2300RPM, you can hear an annoying low hum at cruising highway speeds. I'm going to be recording the frequency and adding a J tube next week to fix that. Aside from that I don't think there are many cars that match the quality of this sound at this price range

my de-ionizer water filtration system showed up yesterday.


picked up a cart to mount them with the rest of the car wash accessories. cart was the perfect spot for the AMG badge


spot free rinse after the car wash. no need to even dry the car. comes with a little gauge to measure the PPM in the water. went from 140 to 5. they say 50 will provide spot free.

A question to those who installed the AMG door pins.
I found out that when you screw the AMG metal pins completely they have a too low position in the door. They are almost at the same level as the door upper plastic. I had to unscrew them a bit to be visible when doors are open.
Is this normal?
I have the OEM pins specifically for upfront doors

When locked, the pins should be flush.

I tried to play with the car settings but no way to connect to Internet the comand system and find the destinations I saved with remote me application. Also I would like to display weather On the gps screen.
When reading the user manual it mentions the need to insert a clone SIM card in the system to be able to connect! This is weird as I thought we can connect to Internet via to the BT connexion to the iPhone...

It took almost a week for the mbrace to activate on my car. I really haven't used it all that much.

I'm not sure how it connects. I think the car is a hot spot on its own. But not 100% sure

It does take a while for it to load however. Kind of a pain. Easier to just use my phone while stopped.
