Sorry to hear that. I am not sure what to believe either. I was told 10 days ago that my build date was Sept 18, so I am a little confused that they called me yesterday to say it is shipping and will be in at end of week.

The Infamous C450
There's got to be a reason that MB hasn't release the 450 nationwide yet. Something strategic on their part.

BTW, the Night Pkg is posted on the MBUSA build now.

ML63 and C450
i had a 2014 s5 for a year so i can give it a good comparison

also extensively drove a 2013 c63

i find the AMG tranny sucks very bad at low speeds but the sound and power from the V8 makes you forget about it

i hate driving the C63/ML63 in the parking lot, it doesn't know if it should be in 1st or 2nd when rolling so there is a lag when you add throttle as the tranny decides to keep it in 2nd or downshift to 1st

Wheel choice

Just wondering, which wheel/rim did you guys go with? The split-spoke (New) or the multi-spoke

I will be interested in your opinion how the C450 compares to the S5. Too bad M-B does not offer dual clutch trans. It should have been included in the C63/C63S.

Multi-Spoke Black (606) ... I think it looks the best with a black car.

Regarding the exhaust note, can we drive it in 'sport +' during the break-in period?

Here's the break in info for MB's. For the first 1000 miles (1500 km)

•Vary engine speeds for the first 1,000 miles.
•Avoid driving at full throttle during this period.
•Change gears before throttle is two-thirds of the way to redline.
•Do not manually downshift to engine brake.
•If possible, do not depress the gas pedal enough to cause a downshift.
•Ideally, drive in "E" mode for the first 1,000 miles.
•Do not drive faster than 85 mph.
•Only allow the engine to reach 4,500 rpm briefly

Would it be an issue, in your opinion to drive in comfort mode instead of E during the first 1K miles? I already know I'm not going to like E very much.

No it wouldn't be an issue since E and comfort mode are the same thing. It's just called E (efficiency) in some benzs and in others C (comfort).

When you're using A/C, turn it off a few minutes before arriving at your destination so just the fan is blowing. This helps dry the system and reduces the mold/mildew that can form when you shut off the car "wet".

I just don't want the Eco mode, where the engine shuts down at traffic lights. In every test drive I've pretty much hated that. I don't mind not using sport for a while.

If the w205 C300 loaner I had is anything to go by E (Eco) and C (Comfort) are very, very different modes. Eco mode is a complete dog compared to Comfort. Power is severely reduced in the name of efficiency.

In my W204 and other older Benz's E became the new C mode.

Quite surprising that you and some of the other guys haven't gotten your cars yet. Mine is supposed to be arriving at the dealer "any day now" and should be picking it up by Saturday.

For me the black split-spoke 19" on summer tires. I like how those are unique to the C450.

Its a very nice looking car and runs great but
I have my doubts that my CLA 45 from a start can beat the C450 because of the torque difference now that I have driven both
will see after 1000 miles

You can turn off the thing which shuts off your car at any time even in comfort mode.

Never knew that. So the C Class has both E and C mode? Always heard and figured that they're the same thing since some models have E, and some have C. Never saw a model with both so far. So thanks for the info!

It's not just HP and torque that makes a car faster. Many things including the weight, suspension set up, transmission etc have a effect on 0-60 times etc. So the CLA 45 should be faster than the C450. Why? Huge weight difference. CLA 45 weighs 3262 pounds, and the C450 is supposed to weigh 3850 pounds. The other thing are the transmission. DCT vs an automatic.

So since the CLA 45 does 0-60 in 4.1 seconds (Tested), and the manufacturer times were 4.6 for the 2015; I can see the C450 getting 0-60 in about 4.5-4.7 seconds considering the manufacturer times for it is 4.9.

Whenever you get the chance could you post the fuel economy you've been managing to achieve? Rather curious how much fuel the C450 burns.

Doh! And I cannot even get there to look at it. It is not so much the waiting for the car, it is the pain of renting things like Malibu's until I can get mine on the lot.... Sorry GM drivers, no offence meant, it is just not the same as my outgoing 435 M Sport or my incoming C450.....

I am giving the dealer a 10/15 drop-dead date. Afterwards I abandon ship and hit-up the Porsche dealer 2 miles down the road for a Macan S. I had enough nonsense already.

I hear your frustration, but just remember, if they miss your deadline and you don't take the car, it's not like they won't have a line of customers behind you who'd gladly buy it when it comes in.

What is the latest word from your sales rep? I sent mine a funny/nasty email. My email to my sales rep is:

"Day 26, vehicle held hostage at the M-B vehicle processing center. :-0 Any additional news? Word on the street is slowly a few vehicles are being released to the dealerships".
