Yeah, the C63 wheels... I would love to find those for less than the OEM price. I haven't looked very hard yet, but that is definitely on the to-do list. Find those wheels and pull together all of the parts for surround view.

Either one is going to look great... I like the idea that the silver fiber glass would provide the light contrast to the dark interior, to go along with the white exterior.

I need some good scenery for the backdrop for some additional pictures... I was thinking maybe Denmark w/ PalmerC450
Or Switzerland w/ CornishPasty

Just off the base MSRP alone, without factoring in the discounts, the C450 only carries a measly $2K premium over the C400. However, with the 450, you get the C63 suspension, retuned engine, and cosmetic upgrade...in the end it is well worth the small premium you pay up for the 450 over the 400...sorry
However, let's say you got a 16% discount off MSRP off the C400 then maybe then, it is a more prudent choice to purchase the C400 over the 450. Some members have actually gotten close to 20% off the C400 cuz they were unloading the 400s in preparation for the 450...if you got that discount then mucho kudos to you, otherwise, 450 gives more bang for the buck, all in all

Exactly, that's why I took offense to jester435 and his dumb comments about how the C400 is basically a C450, without even saying how much he paid for the CPO C400. His comments suggest he was taken for a ride by a slick salesman. Unless he paid significantly less than 50 grand for the CPO, then his deal is not as good as he thinks
My C400 MSRP was 58K it is fully loaded.
I paid 46K for CPO C400 with 2yr unlimited mile warranty after manufacture warranty & 2yrs of prepaid maintenance. Car was built in March 2015
Once again, I am misquoted. The C450 AMG tune wasnt worth the price premium for me. I got a better equipped option wise car
Palladium silver
Rear window shades
Linden Wood
New Pirelli Pzero tires (They changed them to all-season because we are in Utah $1,500 new tires they ate.)
Blind Spot
Lighting Package: Dynamic headlights
Multimedia package
Panorama Sunroof
19" AMG wheels
heated front seats
Premium 1 package
hands Free
airmatic suspension
I think that is everything.
It is really only missing driver assistance, which I didnt want.
this is why C400 with all these options MSRP higher than C450.
I am not trying to debate. It was a good choice for my wife and we are happy. They couldnt sell this car as a new car because it was Mercedes Demo car and it wasnt technically used, so that is why they made me a good deal. It was listed at 49,980. The link at SLC mercedes is still up I think.

Not sure about you, but after about 45 minutes of driving, I have to say that I love the HUD. I wasn't sure how well the speed limit info would be displayed (from a frequency standpoint), but it seems to be spot on. So the setting that I have it on provides speed, current speed limit, next NAV turn, next NAV turn distance, time to final destination and final destination distance.
As well as it worked on my drive home, I would buy it for the speed limit alone.

Good to hear about the HUD. Do you have Driver Assistance? I love the speed limit info on my BMW (also displays on the HUD) but I didn't want to pony up the $2800 for DAP just for that, since really the only other aid I wanted was the already-standard blind-spot assist.

blind spot, heated front seats and premium 1 package are all standard in the 450 as well...
But you did receive a good price on the C400...I for one am a sucker for the little extra bells and whistles and declined a comparable C400 for 45K (it was the test drive car) and opted to order a fresh new 450..
But congrats on your purchase!!! you got a great price and in the end all that matters is you and what makes you happy. Money shouldnt matter, it comes and goes, just a medium to get you what you want in the end.

Congrats on the new ride Vipershade! The interior is truly stunning, my mind is officially blown. Thanks for all your contributions to this forum, very much helped myself and a lot of others as well.

Yeah, I got a little carried away with the order system here are the options that I got:
319 Lighting Package $ 800
320 Multimedia Package $ 2,690
389 HANDS-FREE Access Package $ 250
997 Driver Assistance Package $ 2,250
P02 Premium 2 Package $ 1,520
P63 designo Platinum White Performance Seat Package $ 6,400
235 PARKTRONIC with Active Parking Assist $ 970
281 AMG Performance Steering Wheel $ 500
413 Panorama Sunroof $ 1,480
463 Head-Up Display $ 990
540 Power Rear-Window Sunshade $ 440
605 19" AMG® Multi-Spoke Wheel - Titanium $ 850
H84 Silver Fiber Glass Trim - Matte $ 1,300
P21 Air Balance Package $ 350
(This is from an old build sheet, I know at least the MSRP for the 320 Multimedia Package is wrong, I think the designo/performance seats might have dropped a little also).
Had this been a C63 or E63, I wouldn't have been quite so liberal with the options.

There was no need for him to justify his purchase by throwing **** on those of us who spend more for a C450, and I'm of tired of hearing how the C450 is just a C400 with a "tuned" engine, as we all know it's much more than that.

You're the first owner verifying that speed displays on the HUD. I'm really glad to hear that. I couldn't get a straight answer from the local sales people. No question that speed limit on the HUD is worth the price of admission. But, actual speed and NAV directions are close behind. It all allows you to keep your eyes on the road where they belong
On a side note, the remote start from mbrace is pretty cool (along with the locate feature). I kind of blew off mbrace on the ML350.

I think he got a reasonable deal, and I also agree that the C400 is a great daily driver for his wife, and I would have done the same if I was only looking for a dd for my wife. Most of us could have gotten a C400 for mid forties, if that was what we were looking for. The part of his comments that got us ticked was this "Nobody is dumb enough to not realize that the C400 is basically a C450"

I went to take it out a few minutes ago and the rain started right when I was half way out of the garage... SON-OF-A!
I'll give that a try when I get back... that was one of the configurations that I was thinking about also. I would have to say that I am not big on eco start/stop, I won't be doing that regularly.
The pops in Sport+ are definitely fun.

How are you liking the comfort of the performance seat? Any concerns a front passenger will find it too restrictive? I ordered the performance seats based on all of the positive comments. I had a brief test drive in a C63 and I liked them, but my time in it was short. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
The side bolsters are pretty much the only limiting part, I think everything else gives enough adjustment to make it unnoticeable compared to the AMG Sport Seats. So if you/or passenger is too big for the side bolster adjustment to make you comfortable, you are not going to like them.
If you can get the side bolsters to feel good, you should be able to adjust everything else to give you a comfortable ride.
