I have been having some health problems lately so I haven't been posting, but I am about to feel much better today when I pickup my C450!!!It is iridium silver with black leather interior.I was at the dealer and gave it the "once over" and it is beautiful.I will update with driving observations periodicaly.
I have been reading posts of those who already have their C450 and it looks everybody is very happy with their choices.I already know I will be satisfied with mine.

A quick introduction . . . I'm an older guys who likes to drive nice cars. I started driving BMWs in the mid-80s and have owned six 5 Series from an '84 528e to a '13 M5 (all sticks). I also currently drive a 911 GTS for my summer fun. A few years ago, I fell in love with the size, agility and overall driving experience of the Audi S4 (with optional sport diff). I love the car but I have an itch to scratch and I may not want to wait for the new B9 model.
So I've been watching the new C class and this forum for a year now. Last fall, I test drove a C400 and it didn't do it for me. Then I was hoping for C63 4Matic, but... I recently rented a C300 for about a week while on vacation in California. I didn't expect to be overwhelmed by the car and I wasn't, but it was a very nice car for what it was. Yesterday, I drove the C450 and was very pleasantly surprised. I'm going back today for a longer drive. But I do have a couple of questions that I hoped you all could help with . . .
I can't quite get my head around, or find detail on, the C450's 4Matic system. Those who know the S4 with its trick sport diff know it makes for an amazing handler. But all I can determine about the C450 is an approximate 33/67 rear-biased torque split. I know that there is some side-to-side rear torque vectoring via the braking system. But is there any variability in the powered torque split front-to-back or side-to-side?
And a much simpler question (I think) . . . with the optional 19" wheels, are the tires summer performance or all-seasons? Also, are they run-flats?
Thanks for your help.

I did the paint/carpet/leather protection yesterday (that the dealership offered (TST)). Reviews of this stuff all seem to knock it as a dealership's way to shake down customers (which it probably is), but the guy that does it full time at the dealership, likes it and uses it on all of his own cars (and hooked me up for less than a fourth of the normal cost ...so it was kind of a no brainer). (I don't think the markup is 75%, apparently they buy and pay for this stuff in a quantity that can cover a GL regardless of the vehicle being covered... so he has extra, a lot of extra I would imagine).
I also swapped out the run flats for Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Ultra High Performance All-Seasons... and then proceeded to drive for three hours (home and then to a bed and breakfast).
Wow... it was like night and day. ...I actually can't wait to drive home.

That's my issue as well. They didn't design the trunk to hold a spare, so I'll just hope I'm reasonably comfortable on the Pirelli RFT's that came on my C300 Sport.

I don't have any issues with comfort or performance of the stock 19" Pirelli RFT's but road noise is not great. I am sure the winter Pirelli's will be worst with road noise and the summer tires.

Headlight Delay Off Function
Picked up my C450 yesterday and love it.Understand most of the functions I am interested in,but could not find how to set a delay time for the headlights to stay on after getting out of the car.It is necessary to illuminate until I get to the house.Does anybody have a quick answer to my Question?

Headlight Delay Off
Thanks a million.Sometimes when you ask dumb questions you get simple answers. They work fine.I was confused because I could not find the mention of this in the operators manual.

a bit off topic, but VAG is not going to "not survive"..it's going to be costly. My base calculation is between 35-50 BILLION USD$, that won't kill the company at all.

What a beautiful day to drive a hundred miles.
I would say all three in the following order:
Ride
Handling
Road Noise
Road noise being the closest to the runflats, and the ride is unquestionably better with the all seasons. The handling seems better, but once I take it out on the exact same roads that I ran the runflats on last week, I'll know for sure.
I haven't done anything with the runflats yet, know someone that might want them?

The tread wear warranty is 50,000 miles, but I haven't seen anyone that claims they got that kind of mileage. More like 25K to 45K. I tend to drive fast cars fast, so I am not expecting to get wear numbers that approach 50K.

Sorry that I am a little late on this but I wanted send you a few pics with the night package. The rear NP pic is good since the sun was at my back but the reverse is true with the front photo.

The deciding factor was that the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 are an approved OEM replacement, so they won't effect the wheel and tire protection plan.

Western PA has been known to get snow by/on Halloween, so the clock was ticking. The rubber in runflats gets rock hard at 45 degrees (any precipitation would not be pleasant to drive in). Today the low was 46.

Love this on the black exterior I keep going back and forth on whether I want it on my white build...I'm not 100% sold either way, so it might come down to if I end up placing my own order (would most likely include the NP) or if I take one from the dealership lot (would be okay with either, if it meant I could negotiate a bigger discount during Q2 2016).
