Do you find the paddles intrusive when you manipulate the wheel as they are quite big on the AMG one.

Thanks !!
one probably shouldn't buy it for the red strip, but for the alcantara sides and the AMG logo - if that.

I thought I REALLY wanted this wheel, but after trying it I found I didn't like it. It also FEELS like it's a tad heavier than the standard wheel. Not to mention the SO didn't like it at all. She thought it would feel sweaty sometimes. I think the suede alcantara is meant to be a positive for GRIP and FEEL but most likely when one is wearing a driving GLOVE. For a normal usage, I don't see it adding that much value. I deleted the option. ;-0

Great pictures and they really show the plastic I am referring to. Also, the exhaust system is definitely free flowing. I am wondering if there will be an easier way to increase the noise without having to throw on a newer system.

Any ideas?

Besides mvw and tivoboy, no other opinion from the an owner of amg steering wheel ? Is the the grip ok on the alcantara part ? Does it resist to sweat because opinions here seem a bit negative ?
Do the paddles interfere when you manipulate the wheel as they are quite big on the amg model?
Thanks

Bought in Canada from MB Burlington and had good quotes up to 2900 off from various in the area. Spectrum was 2300-2900 give or take across 5-6 dealers.

Bit nervous about the red/silver, but figure I need to step out of my comfort zone!

Now need some winters that fit and are semi affordable. Dealership numbers look to be 4k area.

Delivery in Jan as its a factory order.

P
Congrats on the order.

I ordered my C450 from MB Burlington as well back on 9/22
- Tenorite Gray with the Cranberry Leather

Originally had a December delivery but was told the Cranberry Red was delayed until January. All these recent posts have me worried about winter tires - almost makes you want to hold off until the spring...almost!!

renntech flash for c450

renntech just created this entry... I spoke to them..they sent me instructions on how to take off the computer and ship it to them. There is also a dealer in my city that is authorized Renntech. They charge you to take off the computer and put it back on. It takes 3 days turn around time to send them your computer, flash, and return shipping.

Kleeman knows their stuff so I am happy to see them working with this car.

^ excited to see if another big gun like OE Tuning can throw up a chart with their flash installed...what's good to see is the potential of the motor, especially when you look at the OE flash on a similar powertrain (GL450) showing +100 whp +120 wtq on 91 octane...seeing as how I would run 93 those numbers would be slightly higher..

Additionally, and now I might be bench racing a bit, but 100whp equates to roughly 10 mph in the 1/4 mile, so let's say then this car would be in the 118 range on that 91 octane flash? So then 93 octane...and something a little higher?

That's quick.

this is the part I do not understand. For renntech the GL450 flash puts up some amazing numbers, but for the C450 platform it's not quite as aggressive.

here is renntech flash for GL450

Did you guys go with the dealer option for nitrogen filled tires? Dealer keeps pushing nitrogen on me. I find nitrogen to be a pain, because you still have to refill it after driving car around for couple months, and I'd have to go to the dealer.

For those who recently ordered, does your car come with ventilated seats?

haha it has sold me on my decision to wait until Spring, but in the interim it will be a painful 5 months waiting.

I didn't choose the AMG steering wheel option but the car I bought had it. At first I preferred the perforated look but after driving the car 350 miles, the AMG version fit quite nicely. The padding is a little wide but feels meaty if you know what I mean. Would likely fit nicely for someone with larger hands.

I'm 5'9, weight ~140 with a 7 inch from thumb to middle finger span.

Truth be told, the car is so awesome with its rumble and aesthetics that the wheel eventually gets unnoticed although I do like the larger paddles.

Costco uses nitrogen but I know what you are saying in that not many others do. I don't recall ever feeling a difference with everyday driving.

I have the AMG wheel, but no sweaty hands as temperatures inside the car is pretty comfortable. The alcantara part is a little bulky at first but you get used to it. I like the large paddles and never hit them by accident.

I have small hands, thumb to middle finger span is ~7 inches.

Thank you all !!

Based on your feedback and even if I know that this is a subjective matter, I'll keep my order with the optional AMG wheel. A ^pity it doesnt come with red stitching as the rest of the leather surfaces but may be it can do a good contrast.
I know the wheel can be secondary given the interior superb look of this car but it is what we will hold in our hands all the time... so for me it counts.
I also think it goes well with ash wood insert as it has a sort of vintage look (i don't know if you see what I mean).

@Viper I'l never get sick of your feedbacks I always like your input.

Thx brother!

My thoughts exactly, as far as always holding on to the wheel. You will not regret getting it.

You're welcome !

A quick one: are the side view mirrors by default painted in black or same color as the car exterior?

yes you got the numeration correct. I assume that makes a difference though the baseline numbers are almost identical. Maybe the whole system (including inlets, intake, etc) can handle more overall power on the m278 compared to the m276

I would love this also.

Viper, you were tracking your car (and others) all over the place at the beginning of this thread. How were you able to do this?

My build is scheduled for delivery on Nov 20th...I would think at this point it should have a VIN assigned?

Not speaking for Viper, but to track one's car, you have to be able to access Mercedes NetStar, which is proprietary to Mercedes. We mere mortals can't access NetStar, unfortunately.
