How much wind noise is considered normal? I definitely hear wind noise in the cabin when driving in the freeway with my windows up. Am I not supposed to hear any wind noise at all?
^ this is a really valid question, even more so when you consider that when you go to a a dealer, they will most likely say "uhmm... that's normal - they're all like that".
I would suggest though "no wind noise at all" is probably unreasonable, but unless you have someone who has driven a 'non-noise' version versus one which is noisy, there's no way to really know. I don't think you can compare it to laminate glass since that will naturally be quieter in any case.
What's normal?.. probably impossible to quantify or answer. Given that MB has acknowledged there's a problem though, it should just come down to what the customer considers acceptable or normal.
My car is coming up for it's first year service and I'll be raising the very same question with my dealer. I wouldn't consider mine as bad as what's been described in some of the posts here, but for me it's still noisier than other cars I've owned. This whole issue and its potential resolution has probably more to do with how much noise the customer makes rather than the wind acting on the car and the willingness of the individual dealer to keep the customer happy.

My 2015 is in the shop now for wind noise and the wrist pins. Initially I was told my car was similar to the 2016's and no fix was necessary. Well, the '16's have the acoustic glass. They finally agreed to replace the seals and if necessary the glass. I'm in a '16 loaner now and it doesn't have the buffeting wind noise my '15 has, but it still has a sort of constant wind noise, slightly quieter than my '15.

I have a 2016 model and it looks like it has the acoustic glass. As you said, it's not completely silent, but I guess it is more quiet than a 2015 model.
Is there a code on the glass or can you easily spot the difference with the acoustic glass? If it's easily spotted visually can someone please post a picture of the acoustic glass (i.e. from the edge, in profile).

When the mechanic foreman took the wheel to check the wind noise, I rode in the passenger seat. He took it up to about 75 mph on a nearby expressway. I heard no noise whatsoever from the passenger side window! Others have commented that the wind noise problem is limited to the driver's side.
This was the first time I was certain that I had the wind noise problem discussed here. My 2007 W203 had never been completely silent. Installation of acoustic glass reduced the noise to about the level of the W203. Even before the replacement, my wife and I made an 800-mile round-trip (mostly on interstates) at 70-75 mph, and the noise didn't bother me. My wife really doesn't care for the radio, so when I drive with my wife, I don't play the radio much either (let alone, play it loud). So I can live with the present noise level until MBUSA comes up with better seals. Others have also commented that luxury cars like BMWs and Lexuses are all quiet as vaults. So the problem is still a black mark for Mercedes.
I wonder if people whose vehicles were built after 2015-11-01 (model year 2016) still have these problems. Are acoustic windows installed by default now?
I took my 2015 C300 in last week to get the window rattle noise fix and just got my car back today and the noise is gone. Dealer re-align the window and lube up the seals and the mechanic I spoke to say they know this is common in the c class and MB doesn't yet have an official fix to it but the method above has worked for them so hopefully it'll stay that way with mine. However, I only got the two front doors worked out and I think the rear doors are having similar issues...
Mine is MY16 C450 built 1/16, has regular non-acoustic glass. Was on the highway (I'm Canadian) yesterday and noticed wind noise but only noise on outside, not like the window is not closed properly. I will monitor this wind noise. I'm also wondering about engine noise as mine seems louder than it should be but I'm coming from a diesel to a gas engine so I'm not really sure if it's normal, but it seems like it is too noisy to be normal. Also my rear doors don't close without really giving it a good push, my MClass did not require such force to close them. Finally the only other issue is a rattle I hear on passenger front door every so often - haven't pinpointed it yet.

Canadian as well, I just got off a test drive and I hear this noise from driver side. It was slightly annoying under 100km/h but got really bad when I hit around 120-40km/h (70-90mph for our American friends).
Hate to see that it still hit Jan 2016 builts. At this point, I think I'm going for May build and wonder if it will be all sorted out by then.
I finally got my C300 back from the dealer for the wind noise. It took them 3 days but seems better than before. They did not charge me for it, warranty issue.
I am curious if some C300s are factory fitted with acoustic glass. I checked my driver side window and I see 2 panes and gel like substance sandwiched in between. I do not recall mine getting replaced, although I complained about wind noise and dealer said that is normal.
Hmm strange. I'll check other 3 windows and report. Mine is March 2015 built.

Anyone else like me?
Wind noise is a discomfort to some at different levels. What is normal to the dealer may be not to you or me and vice-versa. If you're okay with it then it's fine. Particularly in my case, since I drive around Chicagoland heavy traffic, the noise coming from busy highways, trucks and constructions is such that I don't even notice the car's noise.
Extra info for people who want to know - I saw two two C-class vehicles produced last month (March, 2016) - both of them arrived at the dealership with acoustic windows.
I have about 3000 kilometers on my 2016 build. It doesn't seem to to suffer from the noise problem described here. It's definetely a lot less than on my previous w204.
Took mine in for mainly a creaking noise on the driver side. I did also mention some wind noise and the dealer is replacing both windows with updated acoustic glass. parts are back-ordered so will have to wait.
Drove a 2016 loaner car and it did not have acoustic glass, but noticeably less wind noise.

I have creaking from the passenger doors it seems. Since reading these forums I've been trying to isolate where it's coming from.
Here's some info for Australian customers wondering about getting acoustic glass replacement:
Firstly, good luck aiming to get the replacement for free (or under warranty) unless you're driving the C63S (that's according to the conversation I had with my dealer; apparently because parts availability is too tight)
Price: AUD$607 (inc. GST) for the pair, plus fitting.
Here's an excerpt from the Euro MB parts price database, just so you know how much you're getting screwed once the 'Australia Tax' hike is applied .
